  1. That should do it. Thunder won't start out games with 18-point deficits and Shane Battier won't continue shooting out of his mind. And I don't think Miami will hit as many difficult shots.
  2. That IMO should've been a no call. Plus they called it pretty late. That was a reference to the Ibaka block on LBJ.
  3. Now how the hell did Westbrook pull that off
  4. Oh that was a killer.
  5. Surprised they didn't whistle No. 6 on Durant.
  6. That was a sign OKC shouldn't win.
  7. Fisher had a wide-open Harden to his right. Someone make him stop shooting.
  8. Wade crying about fouls is priceless.
  9. That first trip to the NBA Finals sure put the 1991 Bulls, 1994 Rockets, 1999 Spurs, 2004 Pistons, 2006 Heat (first Finals for Wade) and 2008 Celtics at a disadvantage. I urge you to look at the 1950 Syracuse Nationals. A bit more experience and maybe they take down the Lakers. Dolph Schayes just wasn't ready yet.
  10. I'm torn between which team I'd rather see humiliate Miami. Probably Boston.
  11. I think they take it in 7.
  12. Well this is surprising.
  13. San Antonio is like K [expletive] U.
  14. [expletive] the Heat. San Antonio is going to throttle them.
  15. Right on. Heck I remember when MJ shot 56 percent during that one year they had a condensed 66-game schedule and Tony Delk was the point guard. Plus, who could forget that legendary playoff game when Jordan was passing up shots for Wennington?
  16. Good point. Should they start Bryant against Oklahoma City or has Steve Blake overtaken him? I don't get the snark or the wasted hours of MJ research. Did he have a unwhelming game? Yes. That's all that this discussion was about. 17 points on 16 shots is underwhelming. Doesn't mean he's NOT an all time great or that no great players have bad playoff games, just that this particular game was bad. No need to make a mountain out of an anthill. I guess it depends on the proper context of "underwhelming." Again, he played 45 minutes, had eight assists and made a big 3-pointer. He played more minutes than anyone else in the series and he's 33-years-old coming off a compressed 66-game schedule. Given all those issues, I'd say his Game 7 was a solid performance that, most importantly, helped them win.
  17. Which isn't the point. The harping on Kobe because he didn't have an amazing game is ridiculous.
  18. From another NBA great: 19 points on 18 shots in an elimination game. 30 points on 30 shots in an elimination game. 25 points on 22 shots in an elimination game. 31 points on 27 shots in an elimination game. 21 points on 25 shots in a closeout game. 25 points on 24 shots in a closeout game. 23 points on 19 shots in a closeout game. 22 points on 19 shots in a closeout game. 24 points on 23 shots in a closeout game. 28 points on 31 shots in a closeout game. 39 points on 35 shots in a closeout game. 28 points on 25 shots in a Game 7. 28 points on 26 shots in a closeout game including an airballed three-pointer at the buzzer. Yeah but.
  19. Good point. Should they start Bryant against Oklahoma City or has Steve Blake overtaken him?
  20. Yup. 17 points and eight assists with a big 3-pointer in 45 minutes on the floor. Underwhelming.
  21. You don't wear five rings if you're overrated. Yeah, Shaq and his triple teams and Horry have nothing to do with it. Maybe too if you actually researched how Kobe is quite the opposite of "clutch" when it comes to playoff game winners then you too would agree that he is vastly overrated. He's got little to no hardware worthy of being a legendary player aside from the fact that he's got 5 rings that are a clear TEAM accomplishment. OK, so tell me, was Kobe incidental or integral to the Lakers winning five championships? I'm pretty sure the best 2-guard on the planet at that time deserves an ample amount of the credit.
  22. You don't wear five rings if you're overrated. Agreed. Robert Horry. It's pretty much proof that Horry was an all-time great role player.
  23. You don't wear five rings if you're overrated.
  24. If they didn't have Paul Pierce and KG I probably would. You're pulling for Miami over Boston? That's crazy talk.
