  1. Irish +10 is a no-brainer.
  2. They can beat Atlanta, but probably not Green Bay. I wonder what the spread will be. There's no way Atlanta opens up as more than three-point favorites.
  3. Who cleared him to play?
  4. The Colts might get a backdoor cover if Baltimore keeps getting penalties.
  5. Luck's Asperger's must have kicked in there.
  6. Murder joke
  7. Name a quarterback as mediocre as Flacco that has started 10 playoff games. ETA: I really underestimated how good Flacco actually is
  8. Before I even read the second line I was thinking that sounded like a Pressey game.
  9. On this forum? You're the only one I see who consistently brings it up.
  10. It wasn't a swipe; I was legitimately asking why narratives bother you so much. I think everyone gets annoyed at the SEC, but at this point it's like complaining about the Yankees and Red Sox.
  11. Ooh, sick burn. So because I'm pointing out your ridiculous obsession about conspiracies that nobody else cares about you try and make it personal. Whatever helps you feel better, but your stance is completely indefensible and over-the-top in its whininess. I'm guessing you sense this, too.
  12. ESPN has a huge contract with the SEC and we all know espn pushes the teams that make it the most money. I'm a little surprised you don't see a conference whose members are consistently placed at the head of each same-loss group as anything but deserved recognition. ETA-which polls are objective? Just bc they call them computer polls doesn't mean they're free of bias. As for better at the top, same in the middle, that's not exactly what I said. The SEC has a split that's a mile wide. 6 at the top are quite good. 8 at the bottom that are meh or as bad or worse than any BCS team. I said beating a 6-win SEC team is no different than beating a 6-win team from another BCS conf. They're the biggest conference-they should have more good teams and more bad teams than any other conference-and they do. That's not proof of anything. Bottom line-there is very little evidence that the SEC is some dominant conference, whereas the evidence suggests that it's overrated. Is there anyone who cares about perception bias, the SEC and ESPN narratives as much as you? Probably time to give it a rest.
  13. Feeling a bond with someone that roots for the same school as you is fine, but feeling a bond with someone because they root for a school that has been arbitrarily grouped with yours just makes no sense to me.
  14. He's a winner in the sense that his team won, but that's all there is to it. Also, do you enjoy Peter King?
  15. I don't think anyone would dispute that (though I don't think Reggie Wayne or T.Y. Hilton are below average), just that we should hold off on calling him A Winner. Plus it would be wrong to overlook Bruce Arians' role.
  16. Of course he does. According to Football Outsiders Luck was something like 19th among quarterbacks in impacting his team.
  17. Agreed. I don't think that's a very controversial statement, and I don't think it requires asking if a GM would take Luck over [x] for the next 10 years.
  18. Even using raw stats this isn't true. Luck is a rookie. The stats are very close to even and Luck has got his team in the playoffs in year one. If every GM in the NFL was offered the choice of Luck or Bradford, how many would choose Luck? And how many seconds would it take them to make that decision? Who the [expletive] cares? Luck is an average quarterback and he doesn't posses some gene that allows him to play better in certain situations.
  19. Even using raw stats this isn't true.
  20. Yeah, it's just that there's a lot of factors that go in besides just assuming that Luck was transcendent in the fourth quarter. My own guy Sam Bradford had quite a few excellent fourth quarters but he played uneven in the other three periods. I don't think this means he has a knack for clutch play at all.
  21. I don't think so. I think its just a mediocre team that has won an inordinate amount of close games.
  22. By playing an easy schedule. Well, yeah. And yet, even against that easy schedule, I have no idea how they managed to win those eleven games. Luck just knows how to win.
  23. And Pioli gets to keep his job because...
  24. If the Lions let Schwartz go I wonder if he finds his way back on Fisher's staff.
  25. Though they aren't any good, Colts and Bengals will both win. Seattle beats both Washington and Atlanta by double digits. I weep.
