  1. Missouri will play Georgetown Nov. 30 in Kansas City.
  2. John Rooney was acting like they won the World Series because he's a Cardinals fan.
  3. I agree. They should've been unhappy.
  4. I just don't understand my fellow Cardinals fans sometimes. I mean...really? Because Brandon Phillips went all O.G. this means the Cardinals are better than they were three days ago? They have the second best run differential in the NL, the second best ERA+ and the third best OPS+. If they start playing well it'll be a result of them playing at their level -- not because of anything Phillips said or did.
  5. You really wish someone you don't know would've gotten beat up to avenge whatever he did to 25 other people you don't know? That makes a ton of sense. And poor, innocent Brandon Phillips. If Phillips was just trying to be playful and tap Molina, then he would've backed down when Molina got in his face. It took him half a second to start tossing off the helmet and jawing right back. Even one of the mods here described Phillips as an "overzealous goof." He knew exactly what he was doing and Molina knew exactly what he was doing. I'm not even opposed to all this "swag" the Reds are trying to show off. It makes these games ten times more entertaining
  6. Bud Selig will be angry. The severity of this offense will be heavy-handed. Cueto will be suspended at least five, maybe even six games. Ron Artest will even consider it harsh.
  7. It is pretty funny. And a really good move for the Reds. Plus it helps push this stupid idea that "BASEBALL IS BACK IN CINCINNATI!!!!" it's miserable. i never thought i'd prefer the cardinals winning over the reds, but here we are. It's worse when I (Cardinals fan) have to read other Cardinals fans talk about Cincinnati's greatness. The Reds have outdrawn the Pirates by 200,000 fans.

  9. Maybe he's talking about those "fake texts from real people" thing on the Michelle Beadle Show.
  10. Chris Berman gets honored by the Pro Football HOF. I guess there's been bigger tragedies, but not more than five.
  11. I'm not going to continue arguing about it. Have a good day, Scrub.
  12. I saw that, but it just seemed like a really weird sentence. I didn't know if you were trying to say "Castro is leading the race" or "Castro is in second place."
  13. Sorry, it was early (or late, I can't remember right now) and I thought the discussion was still about pitchers batting eighth. You should consult Tom Tango. I am certain that he has done plenty of work on why not just Pujols -- but every team's best hitter -- should bat second.
  14. It increases the team's run expectancy. Why? http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/is-larussa-right-to-bat-his-pitcher-in-the-eight-slot/
  15. http://www.blogcdn.com/mlb.fanhouse.com/media/2009/05/1buster-posey-200-5509.jpg "Hi, I'm Buster Posey. I'm hitting .355."
  16. Sorry to intrude, but those comments about Theriot do not really surprise me. Casual fans are drawn heavily to white ball players under 6 feet tall. It's just the way the world works.
  17. This is Tony La Russa meddling (and a stingy owner) at its finest I hate saying that because it's such a cliche, but it's like TT said -- Jay's loss and Westbrook's gain will cancel each other out. St. Louis is so convinced that they need pitching that they completely overpaid for someone coming off Tommy John surgery. I was never opposed to trading Ludwick, but not for Jake Westbrook. That's just [expletive].
  18. It increases the team's run expectancy.
  19. Well, it also goes to show how stupid Ed Wade is. Villar is a 19-year-old shortstop who is OPSing .690 in A-ball. Gose is OPSing .710 in the FSL. J.A. Happ will make a good third starter. That would be a good package if the Astros got rid of Oswalt's salary. But they're paying most of it.
  20. This is correct. It's almost like leading off with Aaron Miles It's actually nothing like that since the pitcher batting eighth is as inconsequential as Manny Ramirez batting fourth and David Ortiz batting third. You're giving a pitcher more PAs than certain position players over the course of the year. That's just annoying, not to mention stupid http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/is-larussa-right-to-bat-his-pitcher-in-the-eight-slot/

  22. Valentine acted like a baby over the pitcher batting eighth thing all night long. Whining about that is the very definition of being a cliche.
  23. Bobby Valentine is the worst. Jesus, La Russa makes me want to pull my hair out, but the snide comments are unacceptable. Just as the La Russa ball washing gets old, the constant jabbing gets just as old. You aren't half the manager he is and you never will be.
  24. It's awesome being me.
