  1. Well he wasn't producing like he was getting paid for, how about that. Don't bother with that guy. He and the other Bradley defenders will defend him to no end even when his own teammates have now said he's basically an ass. I really wonder about some of the posters on this board.
  2. But, but, the Bradley defenders say he hasn't had a negative impact on the team or clubhouse. Demp MUST BE a racist. :rotfl:
  3. lololol yeah, you're right, he's totally going to hit .250 every year from now on So, a guy who is a career .277 hitter is going to hit .330? Ok.
  4. I doubt Bradley is much better at defense Bradley is pretty much spot-on average in RF. Some people have problems separating their personal feelings about a player from their professional ones. Here are the facts. Bradley has been an average RF this season... both in terms of offensive production and defense. He's been worth a few million less than his contract's annual value, but that's not nearly enough to make him worthy of the complaints he's been subjected to regarding his production. Most fans simply came into the season with unrealistic expectations for Bradley's power production. Sooooo, he's not permormed to what he's getting paid and blames the fans and media at every turn. Yes, lets keep him!!
  5. Actually, Milton should be.
  6. Oh, he's not coming back. In fact, I think with the suspension his contract for the third year is not guaranteed anymore. While it certainly won't be easy to find a taker for this stiff, it will be easier with only one year left on the deal as opposed to two. And what makes you believe that? I am 99.999% sure that isn't true (he passed the games played qualifier a couple of months ago). Even if for some small change it was true, the suspension probably wouldn't hold up in the courts if it was actually the determining factor in his last year not being guaranteed and the Cubs would end up having to pay that money to him anyway. I think this is an overreaction although Bradley has been asking for it for a while. As a GM though you can't let your emotions get to you and give in to what the player wants when it hurts your ballclub. Colt: You're right. Here is what I did find with regards to the contract: "The Cubs are on the hook for the second season of Bradley's three-year, $30 million contract, but they could buy out the third year for $2 million if he is on the disabled list at the end of 2009 with a knee injury and is not on the active roster by April 15."
  7. Milton Bradley has one person to blame for this. Guess who that is? V v v v v v v Milton Bradley.
  8. Oh, he's not coming back. In fact, I think with the suspension his contract for the third year is not guaranteed anymore. While it certainly won't be easy to find a taker for this stiff, it will be easier with only one year left on the deal as opposed to two.
  9. Bye, Milty. Thanks for the great, productive season. :rotfl:
  10. Haha! The usual Bradley defenders keep making excuses for his sad season and his piss poor attitude. Makes you wonder if they have watched Bradley all year.
  11. Are we still in the race for the wild card? This season can't end soon enough. I'm going to have to sell my tickets for the rest of the year for 90% off of face value. I'm not sure I will be even able to sell them at that price.
  12. The biggest question now is will Milty go up to the booth and confront Brenly like he did the KC color guy? :duel:
  13. Brenly is awesome. I just hope he doesn't lose his job for telling like it is. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-04-cubs-brite-chicago-sep04,0,6972405.story
  14. I said everyone is going to gang up on me? Do show this post.
  15. You had me at Jake Fox and you lost me at Sam Fuld. I'd rather see Brad Snyder or Colvin out there since both of those guys at least have a future with this team. (LH with some pop utility OF) Hasn't Fox been getting the lion's share of time splitting time at both corners in the OF and IF? Eh, not as much as our worthless LF has. Seriously, if not Fox, why not Fuld? Are you going to tell me that Fuld is worse than Soriano right now? Not a chance. Even Brenly asked when the Cubs are going to pull the plug on him this season.
  16. If the Cubs are going to give Koyie Hill the lions share of time behind the plate, when will guys like Jake Fox and Sam Fuld get to play full time the rest of the season? I'm to the point where I don't care who the Cubs put out there, as long as it isn't the biggest waste of money in Baseball. The injured knee crap is comical at this point because if it were that bad, they'd put his ass on the DL. Sam Fuld, while certainly not the long term answer, is far more enjoyable to watch than Soriano. He will get on base more and on the defensive side of it, Fuld is as good as there is. After watching that little league display he put on today, not only on defense, but also at the plate, it's time to sit him for the better part of the rest of this year. I would love to hear from his defenders because I honestly don't think you can come up with a good reason to play him anymore.
  17. And no where did I say that I wanted Hill as our starting catcher next year, never said it once. I am saying that Geo has regressed. Call it bad luck, call it whatever the heck you want, but he is not getting the job done. If he was doing the job, we would not be having this discussion and Cubs brass would not have benched him. Oh, and FYI, trolling? Never. I'm a season ticket holder.
  18. Wait. So Geo hasn't had a bad season? Did I say something wrong. And what's wrong with the Walton reference? He was a one year wonder as well.
  19. Geo said this: "That's something I don't have any control over," he said. "I've just got to go about my business and work hard and whatever happens, happens." Sure you have control over it, Geo. Don't hit .212 with sad power numbers and don't come in out of shape. If you do that, maybe you'll get your job back. If not, Jerome Walton says hello.
  20. Please point out where I said I WANTED Hill over Soto and Fuld over Bradley and Fox over Soriano long term? The three players mentioned have sucked for most of the year and if you can't see that, well, we're not watching the same team. So, again, show me these posts.
  21. Here it is. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-31-cubs-bits-chicago-aug31,0,503869.story
  22. No, it validates why Lou is benching him.
  23. For the year he has a worse average than Hill with RISP. And since the ASB, my goodness are his numbers terrible. We're talking Aaron Miles terrible. lol batting average with risp btw, hill has a .591 ops since the break And not surprisingly, you answer a question with a question. I ask you who's been better over the last month and you respond with a question. Well done. apparently you missed the part where i told you it doesn't matter who has been better over the past month i'm still loling at ba w/ risp Oh, so Hill has been better, hence the benching? You don't say.
