    This. If this team somehow manages to stay in contention until August, at least there will be an obvious spot for them to improve. Am I the only one who doesn't find that completely awful? Especially when Lilly is back we'll just have to deal with one of them making the regular 5th start. CCPacer put it really well that all we will really need is a serviceable 5th guy and we can pick from a group of guys that have been successful in the past or have potential to be good (Shark). Assuming the rest of them are healthy and pitching well. Right, but that's the same about any team in MLB. On paper, our projected 5 for the year could be much worse imo.

    If they are going to face them, I think I'd rather it be in the 1st round. If it's later, that could mean Detroit has really gained some momentum by beating some other top seed. Hopefully it'll be just like the Bulls in the 90's. Gotta go through Detroit to complete the changing of the guard etc. I want them first round.

    Agree with those who express sentiments that there really is no way Soriano could hope to put up the type of numbers that contract warrants. I'd be happy with: 140+games played .270avg .350obp 20-25 Home Runs 75+RBI

    I think the plan is to have him be the permanent batting for the pitcher spot and then subsequently be replaced on defense until like June. :roll:

    So Barry Zito threw at Prince Fielder today apparently in a response to the Brewer's bowling pin home run celebration last year. I really hope the Giants plan to throw at the entire damn team then since they were all in on it. I feel bad for anyone involved in the Giants who was still upset about that.
