  1. Smells like arguing for the sake of arguing, as I recall most people being disappointed with the latter part of this draft.
  2. Yep. Real safe to say before a real game has even been played. Especially because later round picks are always instant contributors. It's pretty safe to say when your 3rd round pick is on IR, your 4th is a 3rd/4th string TE, you didn't have a 5th rounder, and your 6th and 7th rounders are cut...
  3. If Cutler and Campbell both go down the season is obviously over anyway, so whatever with the 3rd QB. Oh and I think it's safe to say that our draft was a disaster after the first two rounds...
  4. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-davis-loses-out-to-sanzenbacher-in-roster-battle-20120829,0,6504374.story Bears release Rashied Davis. This article makes it sound like Sanzenbacher has won the final WR spot, but you have to wonder if Joe Anderson is still in the mix.
  5. Hearing the Bears may a trade for a safety before Week 1. Also, would be nice to see Paea on the field soon. That pick is starting to feel like a waste.
  6. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=9012 Looks like Knox is going to try to make it back this season. I still don't see it happening. Just let him rehab and recover fully for 2013. Of course if one of our top four WRs go down between now and week 7 (when he's eligible to be activated), I'll probably feel differently.
  7. Yeah, I'm not a big Brenly fan either. My comment was directed toward the idea of him leaving. How can you not like Brenly?
  8. I remember in 2010 when we looked like ass and went 0-4 in the preseason only to go 11-5 in the regular season. Point being that Lovie's teams have always seemed to struggle a bit in preseason, and I really think a lot of it is a matter of them not showing their entire hand. Then again I doubt any team really does. As it is, I'm not really worried at all. With the schedule not looking too tough I don't see any worse than 10-6 barring injury. They were going to finish at least 11-5 last year before Cutler went down, probably 12-4 (end of schedule was cake, go to hell Hanie). This year's team is considered by most to be better. Maybe the defense will start to fall off a bit, but the offense should be strides better than the '10 and '11 teams, and should more than compensate for any decline by the defense.
  9. I'm kind of surprised people are treating the Colts like an easy win. With Luck, they could be this year's 2011 Panthers. Not that great, but good enough to give you a headache on most days. I think the Rams will be an easier win to be honest.
  10. I'm fine with that sort of goal as long as Cutler gets his 4,000 in addition.
  11. Punting is important but it's not like this injury is a death sentence. Hell, Brad Maynard and his noodle leg averaged only 40.1 in 2010 when we made the NFCCG.
  12. This defense has never been able to stay afloat with Urlacher out. This year would be no exception.
  13. lol Major Wright
  14. No reason for Hanie to still have a job in this league.
  15. "Like" 5 months ago? It's August 6th. He got hurt 7 months ago. Sore knees are going to happen but missing multiple practices for health reasons is disconcerting for an aging football player. Yeah, and not only that but it was just a sprain, which shouldn't take 7 months to heal.
  16. Couple thoughts after looking at that ChicagoBears.com depth chart: -DT does look a little thin, but with McClellin in the mix at DE now that could allow Idonije to go back to the middle in a pinch if needed. -Surprised to see Ricky Henry backing up Louis at RG instead of Brown. If I remember right from the draft, Brown is better suited to play guard. Unless C. Williams is cut/traded, I'd have to think he'd be more useful there. He's probably better than Rachal/E. Williams, or will be shortly. -Really liking the depth at CB this year. -I wish we had someone besides Steltz to backup Major Wright, who won't stay healthy.
  17. I'm failing to see how Williams could go from being our best lineman last year to being cut, or even benched, unless the injury really ruined him.
  18. Debatable, but probably. Lynch was ridiculous the second half of last year though.
  19. Not sure if they're mentioning it on the broadcast but I believe that's 33 scoreless IP in a row for Demp, going back before the injury of course. Still though, time to trade.
  20. Jeffery looks slim and fit. That's what I like to see.
  21. Funny how we're talking about Kyle Adams and he's not even in the pic. That's Josh McCown next to Earl.
  22. Until that last AB, LaHair was hitting .400 with a 1.312 OPS. (.393, 1.292 now) Only 60 ABs of course, but a hell of a 60 ABs.
  23. Of course Webb will be protecting Cutler's blindside. Perhaps having better WRs will allow Cutler to get rid of the ball faster, thus lessening the pressure on guys like Webb? Probably wishful thinking.
