  1. That run should be unearned for Wells.
  2. Astros look like the Cubs. Outhitting their opponent 6-2 and still losing.
  3. His OPS is over .800 now. :banghead:
  4. I can't wait to see these game threads on Sundays when the NFL season starts.
  5. That ball is foul if hit by a Cub.
  6. Is it just me, or has Ramirez not been great at 3B lately?
  7. I give. Why ? I assume its because there is nothing else on and I still have hope that we can get hot and win the wild card, although that hope fades every day.
  8. Why am I even watching this? I'm so tired of baseball at this point.
  9. I am so tired of hearing about Cutler's record as a starter. Evidentally, if a QB is not good enough to put 50 points on the board every game to outscore what their defense gives up, then they suck. Makes perfect sense.
  10. Not a lot of backup QB's can do that. Let me ask you this. How many good starting QB's are in the league? I'm talking about being legitimately good, too. The answer is definitely not over 20 and probably closer to the 15 mark. There's plenty of teams in the league that have a problem finding a good starting quarterback. Since there is such a need for the QB position in the league, you're not going to find yourself a very good backup (most of the time). For every Charlie Batch out there, who was in a perfect system in Pittsburgh, I can give you your Matt Flynn's, Caleb Hanie's, and Mark Brunell's of the world. You can't worry about your backup QB too much because almost every team in the league is out of luck if their starter gets hurt. Even backup QBs who aren't good are capable of coming in and leading a team to a win. The Bears had this with Grossman last year and Griese the years before. I just don't have that confidence with Hanie. Thats all I'm saying. Hopefully Cutler stays healthy and we don't have to worry about it.
  11. Wasn't there some sort of article recently that ranked our backup QB last in the NFL? Of course backups aren't supposed to be good, but Hanie has done nothing to prove he can handle being an NFL quarterback. Lets say we're 9-4 and Cutler goes down. Assuming we need to win two of the last three to get in the playoffs, it would be nice to have a QB that could at least manage the game and win the games we need to. I'm not so sure Hanie can do that.
  12. We as Bears fans obviously aren't used to having one QB so much better than the others. Before, if one of our QBs went down, it didn't really mean anything, let alone hurt our chances to win.
  13. Luke McCown has had success before in the NFL. He proved to be somewhat adequate in 2007. Hanie on the other hand has never played in a regular season game, and wasn't even that good in college. He is third-string at best.
  14. This. We are one injury away from the season being over. I heard Luke McCown may be on his way out in Tampa Bay, he would be a better backup option than Hanie.
  15. Enough with the challenges. Its preseason.
  16. So I assume Cutler and company play into the third quarter tonight?
  17. Thats huge with the heart of the lineup coming up. We deserve a break from the umps after Thursday's game.
  18. I would really like to bring Grabow back for 2010.
  19. I could see Soto having an Angel Berroa type of career after winning ROY.
  20. I believe Lee made an out on a 3-0 pitch yesterday as well.
