I had another difficult decision to make with this daily theme, but I selected 30 Rock. The Cubs won again. They are now a season-high 8 games above .500. They are playing at a 93-win pace and have the 2nd best RD in baseball. The once-hated Duke'ster is somehow leading the Cubs to the Promised Land. While baseball once seemed like a ruthless business as all of our players slowly died, it's not true! Somehow I'm going to lead us on a double-digit win streak in which we overtake the Vaunted Brewers. Mike Montgomery takes the mound in this one. He's going to somehow replicate his last start in which he pitched 5.2 scoreless innings. He'll face Jacob deGrom, who is the only Met who hasn't died yet. But, believe me, he'll die too. It's been pretty sad watching the remnants of our former post-season foes the last couple days. But it's not sad enough that I don't wish them more misery. Drinky Joe's been managing his bullpen a little too much by-the-book, lately. But it somehow won't matter in this one, because the Mets struggle mightily against left-handed pitching and the Cubs will somehow manage to rough up deGrom. It will be another party in Queens.
