  1. I just looked it up. Cubs RISP with Sofa watching: .000 Cubs RISP with him not watching: 1.000. Seems to check out.
  2. Tell him he can fix his mechanics by taking his pants off and putting them back on repeatedly.
  3. Holy crap. End this for the love of god.
  4. Nice job, Steve. End this horsefeathers.
  5. Has Jesse been cozying up with another player in the clubhouse lately?
  6. Save the count for another day, my friend.
  7. It can be a lot, lot worse than what you've seen. the soft tyranny of low expectations That's a .579 winning percentage -- about the same as 94 wins in 162 games -- against two teams that might win 90 games. What the hell is wrong with that?

  9. Do you not enjoy good baseball games against divisional rivals? Ones that have had numerous walkoffs and late-inning rallies? Ones we're 11-8 in this year? are you seriously getting excited over an 11-8 divisional record Against the other two possible playoff teams in the division? That's pretty good.
  10. Do you not enjoy good baseball games against divisional rivals? Ones that have had numerous walkoffs and late-inning rallies? Ones we're 11-8 in this year? I like the winning part. But didn't we win a bunch of boring games scoring one or two runs? Please, don't take any of this to mean that I think the actual team sucks. But there have been so many long stretches of absolute boredom on offense for a team that should be donging, etc. We had one series when we swept the Brewers in 4 games by winning a bunch of low-scoring games. I'm not sure how close games with first place on the line are boring. But if that's not your cup of tea, we just scored 13 runs in a game against the Cardinals. There's been a mix of close low-scoring games and games where the Cubs provided a lot of fireworks. If you can't enjoy this team, you'll probably never enjoy baseball again. Sorry to say.
  11. We're playing at a 94-win pace. We continually make highlight reel plays on defense and on the bases. Javy Baez is a member of our squad. Jason Heyward hit a walk-off grand slam. We've had a ton of exciting divisional match-ups with the Cards and Brewers. You might have had me until your last sentence. Do you not enjoy good baseball games against divisional rivals? 12. They're very fun and very awesome far more often than they are boring. I honestly don't think that's been the case this year. Or maybe they have been boring more often and it just feels that way. Because in like 70 games, there has been a lot of boredom. We even had like the most boring five or six game winning streak ever. We're playing at a 94-win pace. We continually make highlight reel plays on defense and on the bases. Javy Baez is a member of our squad. Jason Heyward hit a walk-off grand slam.
