  1. I thought for sure his spike hit Castro's glove, but they only showed the view that showed it once.
  2. Looks like Reinaldo has as many extra-base hits as Albert on the year.
  3. Wait... Trey McNutt is still in the Cubs' system?
  4. Ben Affleck was supposed to wear a Yankees hat in a scene for Gone Girl and refused to do so, and they had to get a Mets hat for him to wear instead.
  5. Err isn't Jansen their closer? And they used him in a high leverage situation. They waited until bases were loaded in the 10th. That's dumb. I see what you are saying. But to be fair to Mattingly, with who the Cubs had up, I can't blame him for taking a chance on another reliever and saving Jansen for Rizzo and Bryant. It did not work out, but to me that's a total fail job by the reliever. He just didn't do his job tonight. Ok, but he also didn't use him in the 9th against our 3-4-5, one of whom was Kris Bryant. By waiting and putting Jansen into an incredibly improbable situation to get out of unharmed, he wasted him. If you are ok with using him without a lead, then use him without a lead.
  6. Err isn't Jansen their closer? And they used him in a high leverage situation. They waited until bases were loaded in the 10th. That's dumb. Yeah, it was important enough to not lose the game when they finally put him in, but not three batters earlier?
  7. Man this team has been fun to watch. So many tight games. And another manager wasting his stud closer waiting for the mythical save...
  8. Unforfeit! ABORT Maybe quit being such an unyielding oaf and stop posting hasty, fatalistic crap every inning.
  9. That's like saying since Melky Cabrera went 5 for 5 today, we can ignore how bad he's been all year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They have the 5th best team ERA of any bullpen in the NL... and that's with a lot of Schlittering, too.
  10. Happ with another homer.
  11. Sort of surprised you included Hammel in there. He's pretty solid and fairly consistent. You're right, I guess it was only a couple last few starts where he got in trouble early. other than that he's been solid...It's more so Wada and Hendricks. I mean, Hammel ranks 10th in the NL in ERA, 11th in FIP, and 8th in xFIP.
  12. Coghlan would have only hit that off the top of the wall if he were batting leadoff.
  13. I'd experiment with Coghlan there for a little while. No. Thanks for the detailed explanation. Is it because of his patience plate approach or the fact that he's been on fire lately that has you hesitant? Schwarber! The fact that Fowler has a .362 career OBP and I'm not going to overreact to a bad month or so. Coghlan does have a nice plate approach, but he also has quite a bit of power. He should be in the middle of the order (4,5, or 6). Fowler will be fine. Chill out. Putting a power hitter at leadoff and a speedy, on-base guy at the bottom of the order is stupid.
  14. I'd experiment with Coghlan there for a little while. No.
  15. Wow. I would be irate if I were a Diamondbacks fan. And besides being stupid and incredibly cheap, why in the hell did they sign Arroyo to that deal in the first place? Just exacerbating the catastrophe.
  16. So Corey Black waited until he got put in the pen to start walking guys this year.
  17. McKinney up to .299/.347/.467 at AA.
  18. Great to see him get settled in at AA. Only 20 years old... :clapping:
  19. Zagunis 0-1 with 2BB and 2SB so far. Get that man up to AA!
  20. About half of those guys suck and their minors suck and the rest of their team sucks too.
  21. At one point in like June of 08 Marmol was 2nd in the NL in strikeouts, which was completely bonkers. Yeah, I remember something like that happening. Didn't he set the record for K/9 in 2010? I think Chapman or Kimbrel or someone broke it, though.
  22. Marmol had 39 more strikeouts than Mark Buehrle in 2010. Buehrle pitched 210 innings.
