I will quibble with your use of "easily," lest you forget about Brian Schlitter.

Well, the main problem was that he just hadn't shown he was capable of staying healthy and giving us innings. And he was getting roughed up in AAA on his rehab stint when we made the trade. So maybe his stuff just wasn't there, either. At that point, he was nothing more than depth for us. We couldn't conceivably rely on him to be the fifth starter. The problem is: Dan Haren wasn't the answer, either.
