Yeah, I really hated Ross at the start of the year, mainly because I hated the whole personal catcher thing, and how it ruined having a L/R platoon that we could use behind the plate. And he is a terrible hitter. But, he's been fantastic defensively. And once Castillo was dealt, the playing time at catcher hasn't been much of an issue. I mean, I would still prefer him to be on the weak side of a platoon, rather than a personal catcher, but whatever. Also, he seems like a cool dude. His teammates have been effusive in their praise of him. I'm not sure there is any value in having good clubhouse chemistry or being a good "clubhouse guy." But, at the same time, give me the cool, old guy that is willing to help out the young guys and can command their respect over the selfish [expletive] that doesn't give a [expletive] about anyone else, all day and every day. It might not help us, but it certainly isn't making us worse. At the very least, it's like having another coach on the staff. And hopefully he imparts some knowledge on Schwarber, if he were to move back behind the plate.
