  1. We don’t have a closer, but this is good practice to screw him in the future.
  2. That’s a much more appropriate standing O for a relief pitcher.
  3. That’s the second time in as many days I’ve seen Javy not run very hard at all to first. Not sure if that cost him here. Just something I noticed.
  4. I hate to say it, but I think the bullpen had what they needed to close it out and just didn't.
  5. These are always the ones I hate the most, when you grab the lead in the late innings and then watch it bleed away.
  6. I think the hope was that Wilson would get Bader out and could complete the inning.
  7. Crap. Now you bunt them over and score a run without even getting a hit. All self-inflicted.
  8. Biggest Wilson meltdown since the Reds game incoming?
  9. I'd have preferred he pitch to him then walk him.
  10. If the Cubs don't give up a run in the top of the ninth, it's a lock they are walking off in the bottom half. Somebody remember to bump this horsefeathers.
  11. Didn't Carl only throw like five pitches, though?
  12. I just think we need to stay more focused. Any time an NL West team is playing any NL Central team that is anywhere near the top of the division in July, we damn well better be cheering for the NL West team. I get what you're saying, but I don't need to be focused. I'm just a dude. But hopefully the Cubs dugout doesn't really give a flip about the Brewers game. 8-) Also a good point.
  13. Not directed at you, but this seems really stupid. Who the hell cares how hot the Dodgers are? Would like to see the Cubs be the #1 seed. Dodgers have been playing great after a rough start. Obviously, if the Cubs take care of their own business, it doesn't matter what any teams do. Also, I don't particularly like the Dodgers and don't mind seeing them suck. I just think we need to stay more focused. 15. I remember the Indians having some crazy comeback in the 90s or early 2000s. Idk if 15 runs big but I swear they scored like 12 in the 9th or something. They were down 14-2 entering the seventh and won in extras.
  16. Looked like two young guys just trying to do too much in the moment.
  17. Maybe I'm overstating this, but Zo was clutch in seeing Heyward had a great jump and was willing to fall to 0-2 in the count because of it. And it set up that RBI single.
  18. Good news? I think it is, end of July isn’t far off. But that’s also being termed the optimistic view. I read that as the best case view and that any other view has him out longer. I could be taking it wrong, though.
  19. I've been thinking about Jonathan Lucroy.
  20. Because winning the World Series means more if you’re invested all the way on July 1st. The peaks and valleys makes baseball the best sport. So true. I just imagine me pacing and scared and a guy like Duker siting there with his hand down his pants without a care in the world because he sees the future better than almost anyone. And that frustrates me.
  21. I'm just now rambling because I can't do it anywhere but here, but why did I even care so much right there? The Cubs won a World Series and it's July 1. I can't help it, though. It just happened. I was nervous.
  22. I didn't need this. I was fine being relaxed with six outs left.
