  1. For those able to watch, is it accurate to say Addison has sucked again today? Just by reading the posts, it sounds like he has.
  2. Making babies? Is that joke too much of a reach?
  3. This thread has made me really happy and then really ill today as I follow this game only with this thread. I'm like Squints with Wendy Peffercorn. I can't take this anymore.
  4. Sharma said the Cubs' offense has been stagnant. Somebody tweet at him about our weighted batting average being tops in the league or something like that. I think it's called weighted batting average. Whatever it is, David pointed it out to me when I referred to our offense being "at times clunky." Also, Addison Russell sucks. Save your stats that prove otherwise.
  5. Duker, This is just between you and I. I'd appreciate you never making this public, but I'm starting to calmly wonder about the Cubs. Not in a panic way, but more just in what I see. I'm not great with numbers, so I count on others to show why these takes are wrong. But in watching the Cubs, they seem to be (slowly) fading away as we enter the stretch run. Like, the starting pitching is consistently giving up runs early, and since the All-Star break, our offense hasn't been able to compensate enough. There was that meeting with Chili during the Dodgers series out in LA, and immediately after, the offense started to flourish for a long stretch. Consistently great at-bats. And when our pitchers put us in those early holes, there was that period of time when you knew the offense would actually be able to come back and make up for it. What I'm seeing over the past three weeks, is that our starting pitching still is putting us in holes, but our offense is not able to overcome it with any consistent production. It seems like a bad combination. I'm hoping KB can be back soon and our lineup can be normal again, but I'm getting fatigued seeing our lineup construction recently and how guys with little slugging ability are right in the middle of it. I still believe we will make the playoffs because you are positive of it, which is good enough for me. Thanks for listening. Go Cubs.
  6. I’ll make fun of them now... Hey skeptical people, you’re all ninnies. It's even BETTER when you do it after wins and winning streaks.
  7. Hopefully, Duker can be making fun of the skeptical people soon. I know some people get annoyed by that, but I love it because it means we are winning again. Also, at least on this day, our offense was clunky. Let's unclunky it tomorrow.
  8. I think this is wrong. I'm not sure, but David will have numbers to prove it. Run differential for the last 23 or whatever games is -1 per game. They’ve been winning all the close ones and losing all the blowouts. That’s what lucky bad teams do. Oh, I agree. I just figured David would have numbers to prove otherwise.
  9. They’ve been playing like a very bad team and covering it up with sequencing luck for almost a month. I think this is wrong. I'm not sure, but David will have numbers to prove it.
  10. I nominate going to the Rays strategy and start each game with a bullpen guy.
  11. Is it weird that for having the best record in the NL, we never seem to have many games where we just get out to a four run lead and cruise? Every game we trail and then have to hope our sometimes clunky offense can battle back. Just odd.
  12. I for sure, no joke, think Addison Russell is a really bad offensive player and I think he's only getting worse. If he ever gets his slugging percentage near .400 maybe I will think he's average. ETA: He has seven XBH since July 1 and two total in his last 25 games. He doesn't have one this month. His last one came on July 31 against Pittsburgh, which I think was the one where he even screwed that up by getting thrown out at third. That said, I always will appreciate him for the grand slam.
  13. Learned last week he is better than league average for shortstops or something. Don't care. He sucks. Should have traded him for Machado.
  14. That has got to be such an amazing, indescribable feeling to do what he did. One that not many people get to ever feel.
  15. Typed it before and I will type it again, David Bote is the next Josh Donaldson, but also a Gold Glover on defense.
  16. Somewhere out there, R Mack is pissed right now because some Bears fourth string wideout dropped a ball at practice today.
  17. Do you not have ESPN? I don't. And seeing they won based on what everyone was typing was even better. Now, I have to go find the highlight.
  18. I was following here, and when it went from like 283 messages to 322, I was like, something had to happen. What a miracle win. Bote is a supestar.
  19. I just want our offense to be dominant. I know we have scored the most runs in the NL. But I mean I want it to be dominant right now and all of August and September. It sucks the life out of me when they are stale.
  20. I just want to do my daily Addison Russell posting about how much he sucks.
  21. Even though our pitcher is up third this inning, I think this is the inning we get at least a run. Don't @ me.
