    I think they have gotten so many different messages from the front office and coaching staff that a lot of the issues are between their ears. Because even if the Cubs are going to be bad, they aren't this bad. I think their heads are spinning before games even start.

    We are getting swept simply because we are all kinds of messed up right now. Usually in baseball, it's difficult to predict a sweep because it's baseball. But this one is clear as day.

    Outside the box point: I think it would be totally different. I've always said that winning the biggest championship in sports history, and doing it the way they did, was bound to mess things up for the future. The team and its young players lost their edge just a bit and understandably so, and their talent was so good that they still win 90 plus games, but it wasn't the same. ETA: And I wouldn't change a thing, of course.

    I type this with sadness rather than bitterness, but I think this will be one of those few times where a really bad start to the season matters in a big way. If they don't get their act together tomorrow, they will spend the rest of the next three months just trying to get back into the race. They are all kinds of messed up in the head right now.
