  1. That better be a yes. Even though it's a $1 million buyout thus making it a $9.5 million option in a way, I still tend to agree.
  2. Yes or no: The Cubs decline Q's $10.5 million option for 2020.
  3. The Red Sox are going to be 2-7 after tonight. Somehow, I have more confidence in them turning it around.
  4. I think they have gotten so many different messages from the front office and coaching staff that a lot of the issues are between their ears. Because even if the Cubs are going to be bad, they aren't this bad. I think their heads are spinning before games even start.
  5. They haven't been world beaters except for us tonight, but I wonder if the Brewers are going to have a start like our 2016 and bury the entire division by the end of this month.
  6. Somebody asked this yesterday, but being eight games out of first before your home opener HAS to be a record.
  7. KB is going to be the counter argument of why guys actually should sign extensions.
  8. Trash 5th starter that the Cubs gave up #1 starter talent for. What a terrible trade Not true. Q's good contract allowed the Cubs to also sign Yu. Oh.
  9. horsefeathers. Is our payroll really $221 million? I thought it was $205. This is the horsefeathering team we have with that?
  10. Still not sure I like this whole pitcher batting eighth thing, but whatever, let's see if it works tonight.
  11. David Stearns just signed an extension a few months ago.
  12. We are getting swept simply because we are all kinds of messed up right now. Usually in baseball, it's difficult to predict a sweep because it's baseball. But this one is clear as day.
  13. Covering my bases deep into the WS. That's genius. Good work.
  14. Yeah, dude is a fine player. Not a superstar. Not close to a $300 million player. Prove me wrong, KB.
  15. Outside the box point: I think it would be totally different. I've always said that winning the biggest championship in sports history, and doing it the way they did, was bound to mess things up for the future. The team and its young players lost their edge just a bit and understandably so, and their talent was so good that they still win 90 plus games, but it wasn't the same. ETA: And I wouldn't change a thing, of course.
  16. Except for that stretch right before the All-Star break where we..............still looked better than this.
  17. We aren't even going to want to sign him for what he gets, which still isn't going to be near what he and Boras will expect.
  18. To be fair to you, if you were going to say anything positive about any possible reliever coming in, you were probably going to be wrong.
  19. What's crazy is, the first game of the season was so damn beautiful.
  20. I type this with sadness rather than bitterness, but I think this will be one of those few times where a really bad start to the season matters in a big way. If they don't get their act together tomorrow, they will spend the rest of the next three months just trying to get back into the race. They are all kinds of messed up in the head right now.
  21. Man, I was really hoping we'd get two big seasons from Yu, and I think we got one start.
  22. He does that once every game, I swear. yeah that one really fooled me though. all part of the javy mystique i guess Also, I will say it seems like he does it more on defense.
  23. He does that once every game, I swear.
