  1. Yeah, Theo fucked up big-time. Every move the past two seasons has backfired for the most part. Q. Chatwood. Darvish.
  2. Yeah, this bullpen isn't going to work. Because the Rangers aren't even good.
  3. Yuck. Setting up for that three-run homer again.
  4. OK. Chatwood. Strike out the side. ETA: But not with four walks.
  5. Did Chavez even have two bad outings the whole time with us?
  6. Their pitching sucks, they’re gonna have to score 6+ runs a game more often than not to win games (which if their magic continues and Yelich remains peak Bonds and everything else it’s not crazy to see it happening). Although, it should be noted they won three of four and didn't score more than five runs in any of them.
  7. The problem with the idea that the Cubs deserve this is you have to explain why the organization bilking taxpayers for yet another horsefeathering stadium when they're not even done paying for their current one deserves to win Because I don't care about them. And also their opening day starter was Mike Minor, so they should at least have this one. Some of you guys legit have the situation all fans in any sport would love: If your team wins, you're happy. If your team loses, you're happy. I find it annoying as horsefeathers, but I also can't say it doesn't make me a tad jealous.
  8. It really doesn't though Gonna have to agree with 17 Seconds here. It makes me feel a lot better. Congrats to you as well, Duker!
  9. It’s weird, in other sports this many opportunities to tie and what not would be considered a good game but in baseball this just feels like a damn mess This has been almost as bad as Game 2 last season.
  10. Did Yu have control issues with Texas/LA? I never really paid attention to him, so no clue.
  11. Paul Goldschmidt does not strike me as the type of player who loses all baseball talent in his early thirties. There are some players who baffle me. Guys who seemingly fall off a cliff in the middle of their prime years. Goldschmidt has always been great. A good batting eye doesn't go away with age and he seems like he's got the physicality to maintain his strengths without losing a step well into his mid 30's. I think he remains his usual productive self for the majority of this contract. Because of this, I'm upset he's on the Cardinals. If what you say is true, the answer is it makes them happy then. ETA: Although Cubs fans who now are cheering against the Cubs probably still hate the Cardinals, too.
  12. For the Cubs fans here who are cheering against the Cubs now, are you happy about this deal or upset by it?
  13. He was bad in August and playoffs but he was good in Sept/October. There are some red flags overall though, BB and HR spiked a bit, velo and stuff remained the same. I don’t want him if he’s still looking for a Jansen/Chapman deal, I’d only want him if we can work something out where it’s only 2-3 years guaranteed with options on both sides to make it shorter (player options) or longer (team/mutual options). Only problem is, Cubs owners did not spend the entire offseason committed to claiming they don't have any money, only to then pay a reliever $20 million right at the end of it.
  14. I've seen this comparison a lot, and feel the need to point out that Harper is 6 years younger than Pujols was at the time of their contracts. Plus, I think it's a great bet that Pujols is a few years older than he says he is.
