  1. Considering we don't have a real backup catcher of any quality, these are the games where I would take Willy out and give him some sort of rest for the last three innings.
  2. I'm willing to chalk that one up as a win for KB.
  3. Reading the thread where Yu signed is not nearly as fun as the Game 7 World Series one.
  4. Off the bat, the crowd seemed to think so. Then were disappointed when the shortstop caught it.
  5. Good signs: 2 strikeouts, can still get a quality start.
  6. Oh, horsefeathers; I was thinking it was for five and how bad THAT was. At least it's only five now.
  7. It would have been cool to just get one dominant season from him early on. Six crappy ones is going to suck hard.
  8. Damn it, we again are going to have to look for small things to be encouraged about.
  9. Those are not the plays of a bad outfielder. They are just not.
  10. Duke’s power was his unconditional faith and that broke. It’s over. But so did KB's shoulder.
  11. Who has a better chance of returning to form: KB or Duker?
  12. It was and you all are cowards who didn’t believe. Yup. Whether he turns out right or wrong, Cubswin11 made that prediction when we were both, I think, 2-7 and 3-8. To likely be 9-9 is enough to give him a big hat tip.
  13. That said, I think they get 3 of those guys, maybe one is Almora or Schwarber, and the rest are more Cory Abbott, Keegan Thompson, Michael Ruckery, Trent Giambrone, Roederer, Velazquez etc-ish I’m fine giving up anyone of those names, I’d like to keep Schwarber and he doesn’t seem like he’d fit with them either given age/team control. Basically Nico, Roederer and Davis are off the table for me and I’d try like crazy to keep Amaya. I'm uncomfortable by the fact that I don't know almost any of the minor league names you people are talking about.
  14. Oh, sure, now Willy makes contact with the infield in. Good job, though, Willy.
  15. Not a great day at the plate from Ednel, but he can't always be great.
  16. Just sticking up for my boy, Sofa. Whut. You often point out (I think correctly, too) that we suck with runners on third and less than two outs. So, I was just reminding people. Sorry for the confusion.
  17. Then he goes and does that..........also Willy needed to be tagging. Dude would have scored if the ball would have fallen anyway.
  18. Cubs are hitting .288 with RISP this year which is 7th best in MLB, 4th best OBP and the 10th best OPS Just sticking up for my boy, Sofa.
  19. I’m counting it as a double in the gap I do love KB's day so far in the box score. A walk and a two-run double instead of two lazy popups.
  20. I'm still going to sort of count that as the Cubs again not doing well with guys on third and less than two out.
  21. J-Hey is starting to swear at himself more after making contact. Never a good sign.
