It's why people can show me a slash line that makes it look like the Cubs are a good offense, except they can't get any of the [expletive] in when they all get on base unless they dong.
I can choose to be upset at bad called third strike, or I can be upset at the two guys prior failing spectacularly when they just needed to make contact. Our offense sucks.
With respect to Cubswin11, who is at a golf outing, he's crazy if he thinks the Cubs offense is anywhere near as dynamic as the Nats one. The Nats are awesome.
With the wind blowing in, I just don't see the Cubs scoring four runs today to have a chance to win. Unless they get to the bullpen, but I don't think they work the count enough or get enough guys on to get Ross out after five or six.
To be fair, teams sometimes look more mentally checked out when they are playing teams that are better than them. Meaning, the better team makes the other team look bad because they are better.
It's the usual "Score 10+ runs and then suck the next 2 games" the Cubs have been doing for awhile. 10 followed by 0 followed by 4 10 followed by 2 followed by 2 14 followed by 2 followed by 6 10 followed by 3 followed by 3 11 followed by 6 followed by 1 11 followed by 1 followed by 2 followed by 0 12 followed by 2 followed by 1 12 followed by 1 followed by 0 Not to be picky, but the two instances where they scored six runs should be in a category of "Score 10 runs and then suck in one of the next two games."
I feel like whenever these things happen the teams flying in end up dominating the next day. Good call I think I once learned that the impact is actually felt the following day (I might be making this up or not remembering correctly), so I'm projecting a win on Saturday if we are able to actually score a few runs.
