Fangraphs still has the Cubs making the playoffs? Poll time: Taking away all emotion, how many of you still think that's happening? I do not. I think Fangraphs now is worthless because of this and will never care about anything they ever say again.

There is nothing left to lose but more baseball games. So instead of batting Tony Kemp or Albert Almora leadoff, how about just putting Rizzo back there for the rest of the season and be done with it? Or just go ahead and bat Tony Kemp and Albert Almora there.

I realize that I always assume the Brewers are winning the World Series, but how in the world are they not grabbing one of the wild cards or even the division? Everyone behind them is not a real threat, and the Cubs suck. Hell, the Nationals have a tough sked the rest of the way. The Cardinals sort of do, although they get seven against us.

It's clear the Cubs can't consistently do enough things well to get on any sort of extended run, which was the only way they were going to make the playoffs. The statistical probabilities would still say otherwise, but in reality, the Cubs have a 0.0 chance of making the playoffs this season. horsefeathers them, horsefeathers the Brewers, horsefeathers everyone.

Six nights ago -- which means less than a week -- we were up five games on the Brewers. We lost all of that in six nights. The Cubs are a complete mess and it can't be cleaned up until the offseason.

if we win 10 straight, we would inevitably lose the WC game as streaky as we are. I'd prefer 5 W, 3L, 4W, 3L 2W, 2l to get into the playoffs. But I'm not certain they are capable of a 2 game streak of any kind That would be fine.........but the Cubs are going to miss the playoffs going with your preference, right?

No. No. This is never right. I'm sorry. I was just emotional with the Brewers and let things get away from me a little bit. I continue to work on my Brewers rage but sometimes I relapse. Well, all the time. Speaking of that, horsefeathers our team for not being able to end their season when they had two chances in one week to do so.

Yeah but it probably will. The Cubs will win 3-4 in a row soon and everyone will get excited again only for them to lose 3-4 in a row and everyone will get doom and gloom again. Been happening all year. I could see that. I also don't think that type of scenario will get us in the playoffs. If they want to win 10 straight starting with San Diego and then Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, then we are cooking.

I hope the Cubs make it, too. But hope isn't going to actually make it happen.

horsefeathers. The Diamondbacks lost. I'm figuring they somehow are my best chance to keep the Brewers out of the playoffs. At least Washington and St. Louis won.
