  1. In all seriousness, we are going to walk-off this inning. Like, there is zero doubt in my mind.
  2. Man, do we trust him not to talk walk a guy with the bags loaded?
  3. Just no wild pitches or passed balls. Make them earn it, is all I ask.
  4. Good job Zobrist. Would have hated for you to have two big boners on D today.
  5. Either Puig is hitting a dong or a double play.
  6. There is nothing you can do at times, but it always sucks to use minor league type pitchers in high leverage situations.
  7. Just put the first guy on and get it over with.
  8. I think I prefer a clean batting average, good on-base, 10-homer Addy over a crappy batting average, crappy on-base, 21-homer Addy. ETA: But the 21-homer other crappy stuff Addy might be considered better value for all I know.
  9. Here comes a bunt. Maybe a bunt and a throwing error.
  10. Let's have a Jim Edmonds game on offense tonight, boys. Make two runs look really good by making one of them a walk-off.
  11. Either two more hits scores a run or a dong can score a lot of them.
  12. Save the count for another day, my friend. With pleasure, Duker.
  13. Oh, crap. We have to score again to win.
  14. For future reference, just so we all understand, I was talking about being bored with the offense. I should have made that more clear.
  15. Shutouts by season since we are good 2015: 10 2016: 6 2017: 10 2018: 7 and counting See, I knew we haven't been as fun!
  16. the soft tyranny of low expectations That's a .579 winning percentage -- about the same as 94 wins in 162 games -- against two teams that might win 90 games. What the hell is wrong with that? But you (correctly) think those teams suck. So you can't have it both ways, right?
  17. It can be a lot, lot worse than what you've seen. This is true. We've all been Cubs fans long enough to know that. But this is a Super Team, and my expectations are so much larger for them.
  18. I like the winning part. But didn't we win a bunch of boring games scoring one or two runs? Please, don't take any of this to mean that I think the actual team sucks. But there have been so many long stretches of absolute boredom on offense for a team that should be donging, etc. We had one series when we swept the Brewers in 4 games by winning a bunch of low-scoring games. I'm not sure how close games with first place on the line are boring. But if that's not your cup of tea, we just scored 13 runs in a game against the Cardinals. There's been a mix of close low-scoring games and games where the Cubs provided a lot of fireworks. If you can't enjoy this team, you'll probably never enjoy baseball again. Sorry to say. More power to you, Duker. I hope everyone agrees with you. I've just found the offense really boring for the most part this season. But they have been boring for first halves before and turned it on in the second half (2015).
