Bernstein was suggesting yesterday that he's not buying that Lou wants to stay for next year...instead he thinks Lou is posturing to get "fired". Basically that he wants a buyout of at least a portion of his salary for next season. I could see that. Hell yeah, can't say i blame him on that; this team is a train wreck and it's getting worse by the day
At least the Cubs played meaningful games in September of 04 That was meant to be in regards to when was Zambrano ever an ace, I just didn't quote it. Miles is terrible. When's the last time he even got on base. K, gotcha.
I agree also; every manager makes decisions that look foolish in retrospect and i think Lou has taken way too much heat this year; it's not his fault that only 3 guys are having offensive seasons that are anywhere near what they are capable of.
Too little too late. He starts hitting once we're past the point where it could have helped. That's still disappointing. Hes been hitting since July, thats far from being past the point where it could help. Bradley is not being paid $10 million a year to hit singles and get on base; if he was having even an average year in homers and RBI's how much better would this team be? He's an epic failure in my book
Is Blanco off the "DL" yet? No idea, but even if he can't throw or hit i think he would be better than Miles; i don't ever recall seeing a worse player in all the years i have watched the Cubs
