  1. Downright blasphemous. Especially if there are playoff implications.
  2. I can't speak for him, however, I believe that if you take one part Neifi's hitting, one part Baker's usage and one part 2 year contract at 5 million= Nuts
  3. Wow, that seems to me to be a cricket player. Are you? In Iowa?? BTW, welcome to the board.
  4. Guys how did my font get so big? Thanks in advance. Edit: Don't worry about it's obviously is normal again.
  5. They did you one favor. Stevens fumbled. And Holmgren is trying to cover up his own horrendous coaching job. Between not giving Shaun the ball enough and botching two end-of-the-half drives beyond belief, that might have been the single worst coaching job in the history of the Super Bowl with only the Don Shula "come on, they're just an AFL team" job approaching it. Nevertheless, you guys will be roaring back again next season, Alexander or no Alexander. I can somewhat agree with that. However, in my opinion, they should lock up Alexander, but it's at least as important to get Hutchinson signed. The Seahawks got Walter Jones locked up for 7 years. With Hutchinson signed also, that offensive line could protect Hasselbeck for years and continue to open holes for anyone. Hence, Alexander or no Alexander.
  6. I'm surprised, judging by your sig. life is good in Dixie! :D
  7. KatJ, I think it would be a great idea. I know that every time I was seeing my friends in Bremerton (which is on the Northside of the water) or Port Orchard, we would be there during baseball season or not.
  8. I thought the same thing. I really wanted a little tid bit of something out of the book. :( :x
  9. Yogi definately takes this one. Think! How the hell are you gonna think and hit at the same time? A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore. All pitchers are liars or crybabies. Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't come to yours. Baseball is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical. Bill Dickey is learning me his experience. Congratulations. I knew the record would stand until it was broken. Half the lies they tell about me aren't true. He hits from both sides of the plate. He's amphibious. How can you think and hit at the same time? I always thought that record would stand until it was broken. I just want to thank everyone who made this day necessary. I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself? I never said most of the things I said. I think Little League is wonderful. It keeps the kids out of the house. I wish everybody had the drive he had. He never did anything wrong on the field. I'd never seen him dive for a ball, everything was a chest-high catch, and he never walked off the field. I wish I had an answer to that because I'm tired of answering that question.
  10. This time of year I start at Minor Leagues because it's usuall pretty quick to go through and I love the forum. Afterwards I wade through the Transactions forum. During the season depending on other factors if it's a day game I'll start at Game threads, because 1:30 CST games are 9:30 AM for me in CA. Just when I get to work. 8) Otherwise, it's still Minor Leagues.
  11. Anyone know where they was a huge dropoff in the 5th inning? That just seems odd. 100 runs in the 4th, 121 in the 6th, but only 63 in the 5th... Good point Balsa, you would almost think that the fifth inning would be the highest scoring because the batters had seen the pitcher a couple of times already. Furthermore, most pitcers would be, at my guess, into 70+ pitches. You never know with last year's 'swing early and swing often' philosophy but... interesting, nontheless.(sp?)
  12. Woo Hoo is right! I still have my #80 jersey too. :-k It isn't that far from Los Angeles to where you're at. If I can only talk my fiancee into cancelling her family/superbowl bar-b-cue. Unfortunately, I had to talk her into having it so I kind of doubt it. Ah well, we'll see.
  13. Seahawks, and not because they're my favorite NFL team. :D Honestly, I don't see how, this morning anyhow, they were 3 1/2 point underdogs. But, I haven't seen the Steelers play much this year and winning 3 on the road is a laudable task. First time ever I've been this excited to see the Superbowl.
  14. I would say Murton too but I much prefer him in the 2nd hole. So I will go with Barrett
  15. It will be somewhat interesting if Seattle does go to the superbowl against Denver in that they are old division rivals. If there's a team I dislike more than the Raiders its the Broncos.
  16. Thanks, that made very little sense without the edit.
  17. Go Seahawks. The game will be decided in the trenches I believe. If Carolina gets consistent, decent pressure on Hasselbeck then I fear for Seattle some. However, if the OL of Seattle can hold the Panthers and/or create lanes then, obviously I feel the Seahawks will win it. Very elementary analysis, I know, but I'm seeing that as the key.
  18. So, what you're saying is that any player who clears waivers is not a baseball talent worthy of a roster spot, right? Since these guys with uncommon talents passed on the bench player it clearly means no team could use him, right? This is what you seem to be saying. Do you want me to list some players that have cleared waivers and see if you think they are decent players? Clearly if a guy clears waivers it's the be-all and end-all and all discussion of the player should stop because the player would be of no help to our team... right? Or hey, I have an idea! Maybe some of us have been around baseball long enough to decide for ourselves - you know, what Branyan brings and what our bench needs? If there's some big secret about Branyan that "us fans" aren't privy to then there's still little harm in giving an 800k non-guaranteed contract to see for yourself. Why would you let other baseball GM's make decisions for your team? I don't want to get into this particular debate but I would be appreciative if you could list some players that have cleared waivers. Just to help me get a little better perspective.
  19. Thank you CubDad4Ever, I really enjoyed your post. While I understand the significance of OBP, however, many times I do think it gets taken to be, the end all and be all.
  20. I'm with you on this one Tim. I think Neifi can be a usefull piece of this Cubs team (albeit expensive) if utilized correctly. Much like Hollandsworth is not a bad player. Just not starter material, as has been discussed many rounds on this board.
  21. Cool, thanks, I didn't know that would make it visisble.
  22. thanks, rookiecmon. I don't know what is wrong but I'm not seeing the pitures at all. Any help guys would be apprciated.
  23. Jeff Blauser - didn't like him before acquiring him and didn't like him after either.
