  1. well that definitely depends on roster construction we certainly don't need to be doing a ton of it (but we really don't) Our lack of success and other teams' amazing success against us (pre-Contreras) is pretty stunning. Seems like it has to be an historic discrepancy. Maybe it's being exaggerated in my head, but I don't think so. But again, we're easily the best team in the league, so whatever. I guess at least our lack of success was exaggerated in my head. 52/29 is much better than I figured. I'm just a whiny poopy baby.

  3. This season has really made me wish that base-stealing wasn't allowed. Also a pretty good indication that it's not a very important part of the game.
  4. Probably related to giving up 13 runs in his last 6 innings.
  5. Who else is coming over with Trout? Anyone else coming from the Angels would bring down the value of their offer.
  6. The Padres would probably have like 3 runs by now if they just stopped swinging.
  7. I always figured he'd get to that level, just thought it was a year or two away.
  8. Addison is closing in on giving the Cubs 3 MVP candidates.
  9. The only reason to take Piscotty over Heyward is if you think Heyward permanently forgot how to hit at age 27. Piscotty has only been worth 2.4 wins so far, and he's 25, so probably won't get much better. And he's pretty much the only debatable player. (And I understand this is not your argument, Banedon)
  10. I know what you're trying to do, but it doesn't work Oh no.
  11. E Jax vs Heyward: What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
  12. I know even people as good as Chapman have to give up runs sometimes. I just really hope this isn't one of those times.
  13. How do we make sure he doesn't get a meaningful inning in the playoffs because we all know if left to his own devices Joe Maddon will use him I mean ideally Strop and Rondon get completely healthy and back to form, Grimm and Montgomery continue to be effective/show improvement, Edwards keeps doing well and Joe loosens up using Chapman so Wood never has to see a meaningful inning. With everyone healthy, I really think Joe thinks Wood is our 4th best reliever.
  14. He's had a few stretches where he's been really good for a month or so at a time. The most you should hope for is that he can be an ok middle reliever.
  15. Maddon just really really likes Travis Wood. Whatcha gonna do?
  16. Hendricks gives up a HR to leadoff the game, throws 50 pitches in 2 innings, and turns it into another dominant outing. What a lionheart.
  17. what the Brewers didn't understand was that the Cubs wanted a 5-run lead.
  18. We've shown way too much pity to them this series by letting up once they've had an adequate donging. But I want my 20 run game.
  19. I will like it if 3 Cubs end up with 100+ RBIs.
  20. Cease k'd 8 of the 14 batters he faced.
  21. STOP BEING SO ANGRY. CHRIST. Everything alright at home?
