  1. The new Sportsline bracket has Illinois vs Iowa State in the first round with Murray State as the 3 seed, I'd take that draw in a heartbeat.
  2. Same here, I thought Martin coached an awful game tonight. He made zero adjustments on Royce all night and we finally started making our threes. Chris Allen finally had a good game.
  3. I'm surprised teams don't do hack-a-Royce, I think that might be the only way to stop him.
  4. He wasn't. Well he certainly didn't get out of the way. You let him make that layup with 4 seconds left, it's basketball 101.
  5. Why was Leonard even contesting that layup?
  6. i'm certainly not counting on it. they haven't beaten anyone on the road. the blown second half leads @ ku and home vs. missouri could come back to haunt them. and the drake loss. That Drake loss came on November 15th. I don't think the selection committee will hold it against them that much if they keep playing well the rest of the season. They certainly should hold it against them. It's body of work, not how they play at the end of the season. Obviously they can't take it away but I think Jay Bilas said it best this morning. When you're on the bubble everyone has bad losses, so it's who you've beaten that will separate teams. Today's win was huge for that reason and the KSU game on Tuesday is just as big.

  8. Our misfits could beat up your misfits.
  9. Royce White might be the worst free throw shooter ever. He air balled two tonight and one of them only went 2 feet.
  10. Seriously, screw that. People in Austin don't even get the LHN.
  11. I hope Hoiberg is done with transfers for the most part. It was a great way to get talent in here and they're the reason why ISU might make the tournament this year but he's been recruiting well so far. One transfer every once in a while is fine.
  12. It seems like he's been at OSU for like 9 years, can't wait until he's gone. But I'm guessing everyone that plays us hates Christopherson.
  13. Mizzou is going to have another tough game in Ames on Wednesday, good luck stopping Royce White.
  14. He also banged Ryno's wife!
  15. Coletti would be Jannero Pargo.
  16. Because hes bad. Wasn't the whole point of trading Fukudome was so Colvin could get everyday at bats up here? I agree he's bad but we need to see what we have in him these next two months. The whole point of trading Fukudome was trading Fukudome. Personally, I think they just need to get on with it and promote Jackson for CF and move Byrd to RF, because thats the likely configuration next year. That's fine with me as well but until that happens, I don't see the point in playing Reed over Colvin.
  17. LH SP Part of evaluating him these last two months should be to see if he can hit LHP. Tell me what we gain from having Reed starting?

  19. Someone tell me why Colvin isn't starting? Quade needs to stop managing for his job.
  20. To me, signing him to anything more than a one or possibly a two year deal will end up being very bad for us. This is still the same guy that's very injury prone, this is the first season in a long time where he didn't go on the DL. He's still a bad fielder and it will only get worse with age. We can still compete without him next year, just need to upgrade in other areas.
  21. I don't think so. This is the first year in a long time that Ramirez has been able to stay off the DL, he's still injury prone and getting older. He's also a pretty bad fielder and that's not going to improve. I'd rather upgrade elsewhere with that money we would save on him and see if a Baker and Flaherty platoon will stick or something like that. 3B has been so awful this year and in recent year that may not be too terrible.
  22. Earlier it was a Kevin Gregg and Michael Wuertz thread.
  23. The last time I checked this is a Jake Peavy thread. Not one about Kevin Gregg or Michael Wuertz.
  24. They did. Thats why I am not listening to anything Rosenthal or Stark says about the ownership situation.
  25. Something definitely can get done. It'll be a lot of talk, to be sure. A lot of times deals come out of nowhere, liked the Gregg deal, which nobody predicted. I suspect they'll talk seriously with the agents for the hitters while keeping an eye on the San Diego situation. As someone else pointed out, there still could be a fair amount of players left well into the new year. Burnitz was signed the day the Cubs traded Sosa. Maddux signed in '04 on the day before players reported. Never been to Vegas before, and I'm not a gambler. But the hotel bar(s) are full of baseball people. It's a good place to be. Any clue who his #1 priority is when it comes to RF?
