  1. cbs2chicago had their schedule for chicago prior to the last round, but unfortunately i don't know how i found it to begin with. i too would like to know which games i'll be getting, if anyone finds a link
  2. it's looking like edmonds will certainly be around if that situation were to present itself. i know the o's were rumored to be interested in jimmy earlier in the offseason, but that obviously didn't pan out........ have any other teams been rumored to have any interest at all? i haven't heard anything at all
  3. Yet the posts including the personal attacks are left on the forum? Makes sense to me. Let's make public a threat to a guy who told someone to shut up. But, a post calling someone a "stupid expletive expletive" we will deal with in secret. That's inconsistent. Is that an attack to say that? Most situations are unique when it comes to moderation. If you're upset with how a situation is handled, your best bet would be to privately ask a mod about it. Implying they are hypocrites and/or not doing a good enough job volunteering to help keep NSBB as good as it can be might be an avenue to avoid. There's also a big difference between telling someone to "shut up" and saying "maybe you should just stop talking." That's no less of an attack than much of the the snarky stuff that defines this board and goes on all of the time. I think that's the inconsistancy Hosak was speaking of.eeeeeexactly
  4. wow, really? beating both louisville and michigan state? that's ballsy.
  5. i love how all the "experts" said that arizona didn't belong, yet here they are a couple minutes away from a victory.
  6. does aldrich ever get fouls called on him? yeesh.
  7. utah state just tied it up. great game going on there.
  8. A barn would have been apropos. well, there is al hrabosky's bar... which is basically a barn.
  9. Oklahoma losing in the second round isn't too stupid, imo. They have one awesome player, one pretty good player, and a whole lotta nothing. I'm not that high on Michigan, though. I really wanted to pick Oklahoma to lose early. I had them tabbed as a second round loser before the tournament. I just don't trust Michigan or Clemson. I'd say Clemson would be more likely to beat them, but I'm not picking a team that finished the way they did. I also don't like Syracuse, Arizona State or Temple much either. So I'm left with Oklahoma in the Elite Eight -- which I still doubt happens. Oh well. I went with ASU in the Elite Eight. I really like Harden and Pendergraph for some reason. Same here. thirded.
  10. i've got michigan not only beating clemson, but knocking off oklahoma in the 2nd round. how stupid am i?!

  13. there's a big difference; jenkins spent the prime of his career with the cubs while maddux really only had one great year as a cub and then built his hall of fame resume in another uniform. but their numbers as cubs are incredibly similar.
  14. Fergie also pitched in a more friendly pitching climate than Greg did. Since Fergie retired, ball parks have shrunk, baseball's became more juiced, and the players themselves became more juiced. I'm a bigger fan of Fergie than Maddux, but I don't have an issue with both of their names being retired with that number. ive met you, like you as a person as well as your family i met(wife) but i have to respectfully disagreeei havent met you, but i'm curious why you disagree. their numbers are very, very similar. and as bbb pointed out, fergie pitched in a better era for pitchers. considering that, you could argue that maddux was actually better than fergie. i'm not prepared to do so one way or the other, but i'm sure an argument could be made either way. that said, why do you take issue with two very, very similar players each being given the same honor?
  15. that's just 100% not true. Which part of it? The definition of "good" is subjective, I suppose. I'd probably say he's good, but not all that good. He's good for the amount of money he makes, I guess. As far as the ceiling part goes, how much further can he possibly take his game than he already has? How much more can he get out of his relatively limited abilities? i was referring to the "he's still not good" part of it. i consider the guy who lead the best offensive team in the nl last year in obp to be "good". but it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to actually improve. he's 29 and entering his 3rd full season. i don't get why his 2nd full year is automatically his best that he'll have.
  16. that's just 100% not true.
  17. It wasn't a request.it was an order!!!
  18. derrek lee hasn't homered yet this spring. considering that he hit 5 HR's in the 2nd half last year, i'm thinking that his spring training numbers DO mean something.
  19. just for fun, i spent the last 10 minutes or so looking at some numbers (fortunately different ones than ccp just posted) during their time as a cub.... fergie: 3.43 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 6.86 K/9 maddux: 3.60 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 5.82 K/9 so fergie was slightly better as a cub than greg was. but when you actually look at the numbers rather than using your own preconceived notions, you see that suggesting that maddux shouldn't even be in the discussion (like several people in this thread have done) is pretty ignorant.
  20. umm........ maddux was a cub for nine and a half seasons jenkins was a cub for nine and a half seasons
  21. 2 seasons of good? what?
  22. if so, i'm crazy. kansas is mainly young guys, nd state is mainly seniors. nd state is going to be the "home" team, what with most of their players being from the minneapolis area. that's my logic, and i'm sticking to it. of course, all that's out the window if the kid from chicago (sharon collins or something?) goes off. I don't see how NDSU can match up with Aldrich. They might keep it close for a while but I see Kansas pulling away in the 2nd half. they shoot alot of threes, and shoot them well. aldrich can control the paint, but kansas is going to have to get production from outside of it as well. and they're going to have to stop the three.

  24. awesome! only singles remain though as far as tickets :(
