  1. He's going to Milwaukee
  2. I'd rather listen to him than Broussard
  3. Probably because number of potential voters in his jurisdiction >>>>>>>>>>> Wrigley Field. He's a career politician, he will do whatever it takes to appeal to the majority to get their votes to stay in office.
  4. The Nets first round pick in 2017 certainly holds potential to be valuable. KG/Pierce will be retired, Williams/Lopez/Johnson will all be out of their contracts and/or on the way decline.
  5. I'm already mentally preparing myself for this. Or watch Brady go down with a season ending injury in the pre-season and Tebow comes in to be QB.
  6. What the [expletive]. Who is he even playing for?
  7. Talking about the Hernandez stuff on SC right now Mort just said that there have been 27 arrests in the NFL since the superbowl, it's only like 1% of players but 27 seems like a lot.
  8. This was outstanding. That's awesome, but at the same time, Rodriguez didn't really do anything bad. Seems like Cashman just lost his marbles. I looked at that A-Rod tweet, which said "Just got the best news, Dr. Kelly cleared me to play games again!" or something to that effect and I was half expecting the Instagram photo to be of him playing XBox or something. Nope, just him talking to a doctor who gave him good news and he was excited about it. Apparently Cashman couldn't handle that because he wasn't cleared by Yankee doctors and he lost his [expletive]. Yeah, I kept looking for more to the story because I figured there'd be ARod doing something typically ARod-ish but couldn't find it. That should have been the response to Stewart's tweets, not ARod's. Yeah it was a very odd response from Cashman. Apparently he said it's the organizations job to update the public/press on players rehabbing/etc. But Teixeria and Granderson both recently tweeted out stuff about their rehab stints. Tex said something about his stat line in a minor league game and Granderson tweeted something about getting a boot off his foot and Cashman didn't say anything. So yeah he just isn't a fan of A-Rod.
  9. Buy low, Mortimer, buy low!!!!
  10. He's already matched his WAR (.6) from last year in 23 fewer games and over 100 less PA. His underlying numbers aren't totally out of line from his career either. His BB and K %'s are roughly the same and his BABIP is only about .015 points higher this year. Only thing that is way out of whack is his HR/FB rate is 8% higher than his career.
  11. Guessing because Appel wanted to?? He knows if he signed early and was able to get into their program sooner the chances of him being able to come up next year at some point increase quite a bit.
  12. Well played, Chip
  13. I don't think prospect for IFA money is going to be in the ballpark. That's basically prospect for prospect, and then you are going to have a hard time drumming up an indifference in valuation to make the trade worthwhile to both teams. I could see someone like Navarro netting some IFA space. I agree. Or having IFA money thrown in on top of a prospect(s) for like Gregg when/if he's traded.
  14. Last time they were good they seemed to do fine there. That 2008 4 game series sweep right after the Harden-CC trades was phenomenal. God, how was that already 5 years ago?

Well, days on certainly aren't working
  16. Wow, I wouldn't have guessed that either. So basically our offense, on a whole, is incapable of finishing off an ab or doing anything with getting a good pitch to hit and doing something with it. 12th in NL OBP, 12th in BA, 8th in SLG 8th in SLG with the collection of talent we have doesn't seem all that bad and might be a result of that approach. I suppose, but .395 isn't all that great regardless of the rankings. They are 17th in all of MLB in SLG, FWIW. I'd imagine they drop down to 10ish range in all of MLB in PPPA since the AL has the DH.

Just come up with a god damn injury for him and let him sit out 2 weeks or, at the very least, give him like 2-3 days off in a row.
  19. Yes, but they won't be any better than last year with this team and even more restricted financially with Dwight and Paul on max deals.
  20. If the trade goes down apparently Blake+Bledsoe are going to the Lakers for Dwight on a S&T. I don't understand how all of these moves make the Clippers any better. Either do I, I think at best it's a marginal net gain and most of the value is going from Vinny to Doc (who I don't think is as good of a coach as the media portrays but he's certainly a upgrade from Vinny) not the actual player exchanges.
  21. But if he can't correct his vision he has a chance as a pitcher? I'd think it'd be just as, if not more important for a pitcher, would it not? http://www.flix66.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Charlie-Sheen-21.jpg
  22. I'm not reading that because Kurkjan is a tard and I'm sure it talks about how only like 10 guys struck out over 100 times sometime in the 70's or 80's and how strikeouts rising is somehow ruining the game. Has there been a correlation in strikeouts rising and OBP/SLG rising over the same time period? I have to imagine SLG has increased with it.
