    I love how passionate you are about this topic. I'm not as hardline about it but in general agree with the sentiment behind it. I'm really surprised there isn't a better defensive metric out there yet or a better more consistent way to calculate defensive WAR.

    Because no one is really getting what they want, he's flying directly in the face of mayor, and a bunch of challengers to his seat are popping up already. Well he's, presumably, doing everything he can to carry out the best interest of the majority of his constituents by being a huge ass about everything and not just laying over and giving Wrigley/city what they want and is getting some of what he/the people whom elected him want. I doubt he'd be doing this if he felt it wasn't what the majority of his constituents wanted and thus [expletive] himself next election. He's a career Politician.

    Yeah, just like everyone thought they could fix Brett Jackson. Well yeah. I'm on board with him being a non-headliner guy and a clear 3rd or 4th piece. I was just saying if they feel he's worth targeting in a trade I'd hope they feel like they see something that can be changed or fixed because whatever he's doing now isn't cutting it.

    Hopefully the scouts on our end feel there is something in Olt's mechanics/approach that can be fixed pretty easily.

    His numbers look doubly crazy when you see how bad the Southern League is at offense. Could we be seeing a August call up to Iowa for him?

    i'm not that concerned about the walks; i'm just saying that he's 19 years old and has played less than half a year at low A, so i don't really see the need to push him to daytona yet. especially since they play like twice a week. Pretty much this and especially the rainout thing. It was brought up somewhere in some thread recently about an Almora promotion, him and Baez last year in KC had very similar WOBA at this point of the season and if they have the same relative promotion plan for Almora as they did for Baez we should be seeing a call up sometime within the first 10ish days of August. That is when Almora would get to the same amount of ab's +/- of where Baez was last year when he was promoted to Daytona.
