I've always liked Jeimer but I'm hoping we can parlay his good finish and AFL into something in the offseason where maybe he's not a center piece but definitely the second best piece for something significant

Yup, and I think it was posted earlier but assuming they go Matz game 2 it means 1 of Thor/deGrom can only pitch 1 game on regular or extended rest and would be on short rest in any other starts/bullpen appearances.

The other good thing about facing Matz game 2 is if Schwarber is sitting vs him we get better OF defense in the bigger/harder to defend OF.

I highly doubt it would be Szczur since he's not with the team, Herrera and Berry both seem to be still with the team so they'd be first choices I imagine. I didn't even know Berry wasn't on the NLDS roster, I figured he was and was a lock on the NLCS. But yeah I'm in favor of him for the 1-2 times we may need a SB late in a game.

When will they announce the roster?? Herrera has to be the one replacing Russell, right? No way they'd do something like Szczur or another pitcher (Hunter, Ramirez, or Motte)?

You know what I haven't heard in a while, which is great? The stupid [expletive] core 4 thing that Rogers, Sullivan or Muskat were trying to start/make a thing that they've had to abandon since everyone is so damn great. Somewhere I hope there's a warehouse filled with core 4 merchandise that those guys invested in and now can't sell.

I'm behind whatever Maddon/Theo/etc. decide on game 1/2 starter, they are around the guys everyday and have the experience making similar decisions before. Personally I don't really have a preference.
