  1. Rogers says they are closing in on something, however. Don't know if he still means Braves/Miller [tweet] [/tweet]
  2. Miller had the 3rd best cutter last year behind Arrieta and Kluber and was tied with Mchugh for most expected strikes not given. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/shelby-miller-pseudo-prospect/
  3. Oh got it, don't really want him on a 4 year deal. Especially because he isn't that great of a defensive player in CF, I'd rather do Span on a 1 year deal if we were going for cheaper options than Fowler/Heyward/Trade for Ozuna
  4. Lana Berry pointing out on Twitter Friedman has a history of acquiring guys with questionable off field/character pasts so it wouldn't be unreasonable to think he knew of this incident and didn't/doesn't care until it being leaked now.
  5. Yes, yes, yes. I really want him. I too would prefer Javy be the headliner vs Soler. I'd even go as far to add one of our top 5-7 prospects added with Javy to get him vs going Soler 1 for 1.
  6. They aren't ruling against the Cubs, it's completely within the rules. It's a way to get it addressed in the next CBA
  7. One of the articles I read said he filed it in April, so yeah it probably was previously reported
  8. I take it as one or the other, Baltimore can't develop pitching to save their life so the fact he's put up decent numbers basically on pure stuff/his pedigree while be jerked around I believe there is a lot to tap in to with a competent pitching coach/organization. Of all the rumored guys available he's probably #2 on my list behind Carrasco. I probaby would rank them in my preference 1. Carrasco 2. Gausman 3. Odorizzi/McGee 4. Miller 5. Ross
  9. I'd do either 1 of those guys for Gausman in a 1 for 1 deal. I'd prefer it to be Baez.
  10. is odorizzi's upside really any higher? I think a little bit, he's about 2.5 years younger, Ks guys at a little bit better rate, plus he throws a cutter so young know Bosio magic (Brewers also drafted Odorizzi when Bosio was there, I believe). I guess ultimately they are about the same, between the two there could be a little more to tap into with Odorizzi. Also, isn't Cobb hurt or has been hurt?
  11. Cobb would be okay as a depth addition. Don't love the idea of him and McGee for Baez, wish we could get a pitcher with a little more upside (Odorizzi). But I'd be okay I guess with Cobb/McGee.
  12. Ehhhhh, fine. I hope it's a sign the payroll isn't that tight if we can give a guy like Cahill $4.25
  13. I think those numbers were for him more if a team wanted him as a starter, maybe the starter market never materialized for him. Guess we will see.
  14. Nice, guessing they want him to stay in relief with possibly being an emergency starter.
  15. going after a guy with a lot of saves and bad peripherals just doesn't fit this front office's MO at all Rodney and Soriano... but that's different those guys were gotten for literally nothing
  16. Yeah that GIF should probably be re-posted monthly, it's the greatest
  17. Royals re-sign Soria for 3/25, that seems like a lot for him.
  18. Soler, Hendricks, Almora and Underwood would be as high as I'd go for Fernandez alone. Id be willing to include Torres and McKinney if Ozuna was involved.
  19. Odorizzi is he only starter of that group I'd want. Too many questions with Moore/Smyly
