  1. I think after the broken bat single and stolen bases leaving 1b open he was just being careful with Braun/Lucroy as the only real threats in the lineup more than it was Jake losing his command.
  2. Jake has good stuff today, regardless of that hit
  3. Call me crazy, but maybe we should trust te geniuses in the FO/player development department with this move over our own thoughts and feelings.
  4. Sorry but that's [expletive] stupid, we have how many other guys that were called up with the same number of ABs? Willson is ready, and this move is stupid as [expletive]. I hate having catchers that can't hit. Well, those other guys were being called up to cover positions people were (mostly) confident they could cover; Schwarber being the big exception. With Contreras, they still really want/need him to work on his defense behind the plate. Also as good as Contreras is/can be I think it's fair to say he isn't on the baseball savant level that Bryant, Russell and Schwarber were as prospects. There's a lot more factors that go into being ML ready as a catcher, as well. It's not just thinking his bat is ready to throw him out there.
  5. Nah I think someone said that the Brewers and Cubs have a common off day the day before the next series at Wrigley in August August 15th before we start a 3 game series with them both have off. We don't have issues with playing too many games in row for that date either as there's an off day the week prior to the 15th and after for us. I know there's some rule the players have to vote to play a day that would make them pass a certain threshold of consecutive games played. That appears to be an issue with the Brewers, if they schedule a game for the 15th they wouldn't have an off day for 27 days dating from August 5th-August 31st. Sept 1 would be their next off day.
  6. No, I just think they don't want to rush him/have him work on a few more things. If Montero/Ross need to hit the DL probably from June on, especially if it's for more than the 15 days I'm guessing Contreras comes up then
  7. Idk why this series with the Brewers wasn't flipped with the series where we play there like the 2nd/3rd week of May.
  8. Is that former Royal Aaron Crow? When did we get him?
  9. According to weather.com it looks like any rain should stop by 8:30 or so and then there really isn't a chance of rain until after midnight. So if it doesn't rain to hard that the field is unplayable, I'd imagine we will get it in.
  10. How would you even ban them or enforce them? Would Infielders have to be within a certain range of the bases at their position? What about no doubles defense when IF are on the line/OF are deep or in a walk off situation where the OF needs to play shallow because any deep fly ball ends the game? So dumb, just shut up Girardi
  11. I saw that and forgot to post about it. I knew he had a decent arm and that he's piled up some outfield assists in the past. But maybe I've been sleeping on his arm? I don't remember any glowing reports about it. But he now has 31 outfield assists in 169 games in RF since 2014. I know he's youngish but his offensive numbers aren't great, I wonder if there is potential for him to transition to pitching in the near future if the arm is truly that good.
  12. So even if the game starts but there's question of rain does Cahill, Wood or Richard start if they decide not to mess with Arrieta?
  13. Fowler and Rizzo both had balls held up too that if they weren't HRs both would been rbi doubles or triples.
  14. Great slide attempt there, looks like his hand came off a split second before his foot hit the bag
  15. Bryan Price, still terrible
  16. Should've pulled this move with Lackey back in Cincy, I like it
  17. Nice start by Hendricks, appears to be a rather big zone tonight
  18. So is Javy the back up catcher tonight?
  19. It's a good thing we have the best catching prospect in baseball in case Montero needs to hit the DL
  20. What are the scouting reports on Caratini's defense/game calling skills? Because the bat/approach seems like there's at least a pretty solid back up catcher in there.
