  1. Is Harrell the dude with the really annoying wind up?
  2. Rodney has been great this year. I mentally discounted him because I somehow thought he was in the AL until his trade last week, but no he was with the Padres. You're right, I just looked him up, wow. Same fWAR as Rondon and similar peripherals outside of Rodney walking a lot more guys.
  3. Fernando Rodney made it??!?!
  4. I wonder if they wait until Thursday to activate LaStella and send Jeimer down for Warren and go with a short bench in case we need to empty the bullpen tomorrow? Then Peralta gets shot to the moon for LaStella Thursday
  5. Don't know how good a source he is, but Barstool seems to be connected a little bit in MLB. One of their guys broke some White Sox transaction(s). Plus I'm pretty sure big cat is "friends" with a few of the Cubs players. A lot of the Cubs, especially Arrieta, wear the shirts he makes and he's had videos of him partying with Rizzo, Theo and others.
  6. You think Story overtakes Russell? Or Seager makes a big run? Yeah I think 1 of those guys overtake him. Could see Seager being the guy after an MLB influenced push. Like other guys who've had weird late surges
  7. I like having talent condensed on a few teams instead of like 15-20 teams all having 1 All-Star level player. But that's just me. The Durant thing could have been avoided too if the players union would have agreed to the cap smoothing proposals the owners wanted in the last CBA (i.e. spreading out the bumps over more years and lesser dollar amounts instead of just dumping the bumps on the cap over this year and next year).
  8. I'll say Bryant, Rizzo, Zobrist, Fowler, Arrieta and Lester make it
  9. IMO, not really. But I also hate Javy offense I'm not a fan, but Baez at least bring some value with his defense in addition to his offensive streaks. Even when Soler is kind of hitting he's just such a defensive wreck that it basically negates it. Stats/defense be damned, Georgie going well on offense seems like such a better player to me. At least aesthetically. Javy can come in and be a defensive savant to hold the lead after the 6/7 inning because Geoegie is a Donging leviathan
  10. I endorse this trade
  11. Who are guys that have big contracts to take on that would even make the littlest bit of sense in terms or being available and also making the needle move for us?
  12. Give us a bat in the lineup that's better than Javy and also allow Contreras to catch more so Ross/Montero play less. Seems pretty debatable. IMO, not really. But I also hate Javy offense
  13. I'm frustrated. But not worried. I'll only get worried if Fowler, Lastella and Soler are all back and we are still playing like this. Right now the bottom of our lineup is filled with a talented Triple A lineup. What's Soler gonna do, give everyone killer back rubs so they relax and start kicking ass again? Give us a bat in the lineup that's better than Javy and also allow Contreras to catch more so Ross/Montero play less.
  14. Houston at 6 to 1 looks dam good I'm going to Vegas next week, if I get around those odds I'm putting money on that
  15. I say we give RondonFan the Derwood game thread treatment for starting this debacle
  16. That would seem sub optimal to move Bryant off 3B for good
  17. Free agency off to a bang. The Lakers sign Mozgov to 4/60+ and Knicks sign Noah to 4/70+. No, seriously
  18. Not defending Peralta by any means, he's a washed up bum. But I doubt he's in the game tonight if not for the fallout from the Reds series taxing the bullpen. Edwards, Grimm and Wood were all probably unavailable to pitch tonight. This one sucks but games like these happen. This team competes in so many games a lot of teams roll over for or don't have a chance to be in. Tough/close losses are gonna be a byproduct of that
  19. Hopefully a few days off during the ASB are good for Heyward to get away from the game for a bit.
