  1. I don't know who he thinks he is or what kind of negotiating power he thinks he has but this is indeed amazingly stupid on his part. The tweet about him needing to figure out his future in MLB is weird, like what kind of options does he have on his side other than just taking his ball and going home?
  2. Maddon does not seem pleased with Seal Boy based on tweets I'm seeing right now summarizing his interview on the score Edit:
  3. http://m.giants.mlb.com/sf/video/v1027865183/sfmia-posey-slides-awkwardly-and-lands-facefirst/?affiliateId=clubMEGAMENU That's probably what most of us would look like if we tried a headfirst slide. I'm not arguing that, but to say that's anything other than a shitty slide is being a pretty big apologist. Especially when you are blaming it on the horsefeathering dirt.
  4. But is it an outside chance? Isn't the prevailing theory that even a team that's significantly better only about a 55-45 favorite in a short series? Maybe I bought in too hard to the playoffs are a crapshoot thing. 55/45 is probably being generous in a 5 game series.
  5. A non Kershaw Dodgers or at least non Kershaw game 1 in the NLDS Dodgers doesn't scare me. I probably prefer them the most in the DS. At the end of the day, it's the playoffs yada yada, and even the worst team in is still going to be decent and the games are more likely to be close than not. Just try not to suck.
  6. In other news Buster Posey had one of the worst slides I've ever seen tonight. He literally slide face first into 3B and the Giants announcers are hell bent on blaming it on the dirt and won't admit it was just a really terrible slide as to not besmirch Posey's good name. Their Posey love/defense is right up there with the Cardinals blind love/defense of Yadi
  7. I know the talent is near non existent in their bullpen but Brian Price's bullpen management that inning cost them just as much as their lack of talent
  8. Great job managing the bullpen there, Price
  9. The Cardinals defense is horsefeathering atrocious
  10. He gets A-Rod the rest of the year
  11. Andrew Heany, Garret Richards, and Nick Tropeano all went down with TJS surgery this year. Those were/are their young guys.
  12. it makes no sense. He's old (33), he's not under team control beyond this year, he hasn't been good for several years. He totally seems like the kind of guy you DFA and give his starts to pitchers in AAA, even if they aren't highly regarded prospects (see: 2006 Cubs rotation), because whats the point in giving them to Weaver? I think they literally have no other options internally. They have at least 2 of their young pitchers on the DL with TJS if not more. Their system is garbage and has no one so they need someone to show up every 5 days they can depend on to be healthy. It would be either Weaver or some re-thread like Lincecum already or the Edwin Jackson, Jerome Wiliiams, Kyle Lohse's of the world.
  13. Other than the usual suspects I didn't get this impression at all Yeah other than 1 guy talking about the hypothetical where we lose all our games this week and the Cardinals win all theirs and are 6.5 back or whatever I didn't see much doom and gloom.
  14. Is this Kyle's dream of wishing he was a Cardinals fan finally coming true?
  15. Maybe they want Rondon for the 9th and get Chapman an extended rest?
  16. Let's turn this thing into a run differential game
  17. It probably means absolutely nothing, but I wonder if it helps Hendricks at all to follow Jake in the rotation. Meaning teams are seeing mid 90s with movement 1 day and then they are seen similar movement with better location the next day but 5-9 MPH slower. Probably is nothing but something I've recently thought of. More likely Hendricks is just pretty horsefeathering good
  18. With the off day tomorrow Joe better be ready to deploy the super bullpen as soon as Hendricks allows a runner
  19. Shields today... 1.1 IP 8H 8R 4HR
  20. Remember when Manaea was in the conversation for the #2 pick in the 2013 draft for us? Lol I know he ended up getting hurt and never was a thought at the time of the draft.
  21. It's just took the sweet tea drinking, hillbilly bum nearly 40 pitches to get out of the first vs the Braves
