  1. This all is going to be for nothing when we are up 6-2 in the 5th and he's pulled for defense anyways
  2. ok, i take it back, people ARE overstating the soler in the OF thing (which is hard to do) Yeah it's not like he can't catch. He can't make the Heyward diving/sliding plays and has less range but he makes most plays he should and he also has a really great arm. It's not like he's Braun at 3B bad in RF, where he can't even make routine plays.
  3. Looks like a winner Don't love Soler being in RF with so many lefties and their pull side, but whatever. Jake is gonna run train on these fucks
  4. I could see Montero actually doing okay against Hill, could easily see him flipping 1-2 of those looping curves oppo over Seager's head into LCF.
  5. From the few things I've read on this in the past few weeks/months there doesn't seem to be any major points of contention from either the players or the league and it's assumed that the new CBA is going to get done quickly without any major hurdles.
  6. Why do you want the roster expanded? I don't want more pitchers and more pitching changes. I think with the way specialized roles are going it would benefit teams, it may not be used on pitching for some teams it could be for a defensive inclined player, etc. I don't care about pitching changes or time of game so that doesn't bother me at all. I think it would help push some teams to 6-man rotations which also may help with pitchers health.
  7. 1,3,4,6 I would really like to give kershaw an "L" Yeah we ended even year magic nonsense garbage, let's crush the hopes and dreams of Kershaw having a Bumgarner like playoff run.
  8. Hoping to get at least 1 of NL DH, roster expanded to 26 or 27 and some sort of steps towards/promise of an automated strike zone. It sounds like they are going to change how the QO and draft pick attachments work with them again too, which I'm fine with I think.
  9. At this point I want them to sweep. The World Series starts a week from tomorrow (holy crap!) so I guess I would hope that they will be rusty for game 1 or something. I'd like them to have to throw Kluber one more time. Not sure how many games that would take. He's pitching tomorrow, Game 4, on short rest
  10. Why wouldn't they just use Stripling in relief of Hill and then start Urias in Game 4 and only expect a couple innings out of him? That way you have the hope of getting more SP innings in Game 4, and Stripling gets the benefit of a lineup oriented for a LHP. In the Cubs' case the latter doesn't make much difference(especially with Montero starting), but still. They're doomed either way as the dong fest commences appx 24 hours from now and extends another 48 hours after that.
  11. Do people really not know why he had a wound?? He cut his pinky on a drone he was working on last week. It required 10 stitches and forced his game 2 start back to tonigh
  12. Well that's about as much blood as you'll see in a MLB game
  13. If Grandal wants to have his pitchers throw at us and give us free base runners for "stealing signs" I'm all for it as long as nobody gets hurt.
  14. He's a horsefeathering tool. I know him a little bit, I'm good friends with one of the guys he played with at Wisconsin. So I've had the displeasure of hanging out with him a dozen or so times. I hope he's out of the league in 2 years when his rookie deal is up.
  15. I know we've heard that a IFA draft is coming, but horsefeathers. It takes a decent advantage away from us. My angers/worries are mitigated less though because our front office is full of savants so I'm sure they will be the first to identify any loopholes or inefficiencies to take advantage of. Plus there are still a lot of stupid as horsefeathers FOs in MLB, I'm sure there's going to be teams who don't even use all 10 of their picks or just have no clue how to identify players in this type of draft.
  16. I know lineup construction means very little, I wouldn't mind seeing Jake hit 8th and Russell 9th for this one either.
  17. Yeah, I didn't necessarily think HR off the bat but I definitely was thinking he hit it hard and it had a chance to be a hit only to see a lazy flyball.
  18. Nah. Soler is really really bad defensively. There's no overstating it. Soler is bad defensively and probably worse than a healthy Schwarber, but the last page or so definitely proves it can be overstated. Especially in this case where he can easily be pulled after his 2nd/3rd at bat to minimize time in the field. Yeah I think I'd rather take the chances Soler comes up and produces with a meaningful AB in the first ~6 innings before being pulled for defense than him not making a play on a ball that someone else would've in the first ~6 innings of the game. Plus there's also the whole Jake and soft contact thing where if a ball is hit towards Georgie in LF it's likely going to be a lazy flyball or grounder that gets its way through the infield. Add to the fact that the lefty-palooza lineup that will be thrown out against Jake the odds of something hit to LF that give Georgie trouble aren't that high. I know he's a bad defender regardless and the "ease" of a flyball doesn't mean his still might not butcher it.
  19. Yeah something is wrong with Rodgers. It's not all the play calling/WR's, he's just flat out missing throws and reads
  20. If it was up to me I'd go Fowler CF Bryant 3B Rizzo 1B Zobrist RF Javy 2B Soler LF Willson C Russell SS Jake P But if I had to guess we will see pretty much the first 2 games lineup with catcher the only thing that may be undecided, whether it's Miggy's back or not wanting him vs a LHP.
  21. Yep. If I am them, and he is only making one start, I'd want it to be of the 125-pitch, dominant, fully-rested variety. He already looked like he was feeling it a bit as the game went on tonight. And he wasn't great in his last start with three days rest. Give me a fully-rested Lester over Kershaw on fumes. Additionally, if it gets to that point, it'll be a tired Kershaw pitching in hot temperatures Thursday. Should still be around 90 at game time: That's prime donging weather
  22. We were pretty close to 4 HRs off him tonight, Zobrist (who also had another hard hit ball), Russell, Rizzo and Javy. He was great for sure, but we fell just short on a few opportunities to get to him.
  23. Roberts already showed how he's gonna play his cards with the Nats series starting Kershaw on short rest in Game 4 when they were faced with elimination and/or also being able to use him in the final game of the series out of the bullpen.
  24. I think Kershaw starts game 5 unless they are up 3-1. Either other scenario, 3-1 us or 2-2, he's starting.
