  1. I don't know if I've ever heard more wrong, idiotic and oblivious things in a 10 min span than the last 10 or so minutes on the WGN broadcast. Some things.... - Theo is going to leave - Arrieta is a FA - We sold the farm to get Soriano - Joe Maddon is great but what if Dusty/Lou had these players - The veterans on the Rays got sick of Maddon in Tampa and that's why they got rid of him (he opted out you dolts on top of "Veterans" in Tampa, wtf) - Will winning this make guys want to stay (we own 99% of the meaningful guys souls through their prime you fucks)
  2. What the hell are these idiots on WGN talking about. They just went from talking about Theo leaving and "what would have happened if Dusty/Piniella had these players."
  3. Lol, with Kyle holding the trophy WGN catches Grimm dropping a "best pitcher horsefeathering ever"
  4. The biggest failure of all by WGN is not having a camera on the bus Theo is on
  5. Agree. He's been an amazing and important player for us filling a huge role and obviously seems like an awesome dude who everyone loves on the team. But it just doesn't make a ton of sense to bring him back for the likely years/money it's gonna take. That being said it seems championship teams often make moves to keep guys for the sake of keeping the band together even when it doesn't make the most sense, I'd be fine if we do that with Dexter for more irrational reasons to keep him than the rational reasons that suggest getting rid of him. I also wouldn't be surprised if Theo announces we re-signed Dexter when he gets on stage today.
  6. I keep hearing people say this and I don't understand where it's coming from. People who just started following the team last month listening to information from people who had to drop covering stupid local news horsefeathers and cover the Cubs over the last month.
  7. Bryant's dad is basically Cushman's dad in real life from Jerry Maguire
  8. I'd say it's quite likely this WGN crew is more familiar and up to date on what's going on with the Kardashians than they are with the Cubs team this year
  9. Makes no sense MLBN isn't using the CSN broadcast. This WGN coverage is the worst.
  10. One of the buses appears to just be a WGN crew and Russell with his brood of children
  11. Rizzo probably should have gotten it, but it's awesome as horsefeathers that we can have a legit argument about a bunch of different CUBS who were deserving Given that none of the good hitters really made stand out defensive plays, Rizzo was the best choice as a hitter (.484 OBP, more BBs than Ks). But Zobrist is an ok choice. Bryant would have been fine, though his 2 errors didn't help him. Arrieta was probably the best choice actually: 11.1 IP, 2.38 ERA, .97 WHIP (just 5 hits), 15 K (that's 11.9 k/9), and 2 W (not that it matters, but MLB and old timers like that). If terms of key moments: Obviously Lester pitched great in games 5 and 7, but he stumbled badly in Game 1. Arrieta won two must-win games on the road. Zobrist had the key go-ahead hit in Game 7, but Montero actually had the winning RBI. It's almost as if this whole team is horsefeathering good
  12. JFC, this thread http://gatewayredbirds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60082
  13. Ross just said him and "some of the guys" are flying to NY to be on SNL tomorrow.
  14. Will be sad to see him go, just trade for Trout.
  15. I know MLBN will show some/most of the stuff, but is there any way to watch CSN's coverage of the parade and everything tomorrow online for someone not in the Chicago area?
  16. Same. Just completely overwhelmed, exhausted and in awe. Yet I always had a sense of confidence and optimism in this team to pull it off.
  17. The Bartman stuff was so sickening to keep hearing. But now, bring him back and give him lifetime season tickets and probably a hush-hush TD Ameritrade account with a few million to make up for the decade+ of suffering.
  18. This was fun, but he was a complete horsefeathers interviewing Heyward later
  19. Theo is BOMBED and I'm bombed sitting here thinking he sounds hammered.
  20. We were a few seconds away from Heyward swinging on Bill Murray and/or telling him to F off on live TV right there
  21. Randall Simon Tom Goodwin Doug Glanville Troy O'Leary Mike Remlinger Mark Guthrie Bill horsefeathering Buckner How have Aramis and Kerry not been mentioned. For shame. Now back to partying
