Because the entirety of Cardinal fandom (BFIB Nation as I like to call them) has a weird obsession with how celebrated Ross was/is. They have no understanding that we, as a fanbase, totally didn't take any of it seriously and it was a novelty. They truly seem to believe he's seen as one of the most beloved Cubs of all time. It's really, really weird. They memorialize drunk driving murderers, we like to jokingly memorialize players who are good dudes on WS winning teams

I think he had a crazy velo dip in a start before this recently (obviously with the avg down like that he's been down every start lately), this one was only like in the 80s, and they did their 10 day DL maneuvering and he skipped a start. Looks like it didn't take.
