  1. Don’t know how that possibly is a ball to Russell if strike 3 to Rizzo was a strike
  2. What exactly is Torres good at other than being young for each level he’s played at? His numbers aren’t crazy good.
  3. Saw on twitter that with Zobrist on the DL and Bote up, Cubs are the only team in MLB with all position players on their 25 man roster to be under 30. #WindowsClosed
  4. Does Blackmon have a minor injury? Or does he just not normally move great?
  5. Good for him. That being said I don’t think he’s going to be all that good.
  6. Anderson does have the splits you’d expect a LHP to have but I’m still a little surprised Heyward isn’t in RF for defense in such a big stadium. Excited to see Bote though. He’s earned a call up. I hope he can be a nice last man on the bench for a good team/2nd division starter type. Maybe a Mark DeRosa type player.
  7. It’s likely he’s still going to be a relatively high K guy even if he fixes things but this is good to hear that he seems to have his mind in the right place. All MLB players are obviously professionals and they didn’t get here by being lazy and not working hard but it really seems like we do have a roster full of very professional and hard working guys, in the good and bad times, that genuinely “get it” and do whatever they can to improve and fix things. And when stuff like this comes up it we always seem to hear they know they have to work on things and it’s not some arrogant answer back that they don’t acknowledge things need fixing and work needs to be put in.
  8. That's sexy. Basically hitting the ball hard and in spots on the field when it isn't going out of the park where the fielders aren't and when he tries to power one it's going to where it should be going in the air. I wonder how much longer such an exaggerated shift will be kept on him if he keeps going the other way so well and basically the only time it's going in the air/pull side it's to the power alley.
  9. 11th in doubles, 5th in slugging % and 4th in ISO, despite playing anywhere from 1 to 4 less games than other teams. The counting stats on dongs will come, Sofa.
  10. We are down to 24th in K rate as a team (21%), we're 9th in BB rate (9.8%), second only behind the Red Sox in team OBP (.350), 4th in position player WAR, and also have the 6th best RD (+25) in the league. The offense is basically at where the 2016 offense was.
  11. My feelings for never really liking him were mostly based in seeing the potential if he just stopped being so stupid at the plate with the hacking. Like the dude has crazy raw talent and it was so frustrating to see he just needed stop being such an idiot flailing away at the plate on pitches that weren't even close. I hope he's turning, or turned, the corner on that. All this time maybe Javy just needed some Chili. Like looking back at former Cubs prospects of lore a guy like Junior Lake you could just see like yeah this guy hacks but maybe he'll be okay but can't hope for much more but watching Javy you knew something is and was there if he just "seemed" to tone things down.
  12. Hand up I’ve never been a big fan of everyday Javy, never wanted him gone. But never bought him more than a platoon/defense guy. I’d be glad to be wrong.
  13. I haven’t had a single problem with it yet. I’ve used it through my phone, iPad, Samsung tv and a roku
  14. Can’t blame Hendricks for being rusty, he hasn’t pitched since 2017
  15. I wouldn't be mad at mid to late 30s twilight of their careers each with 5-10 Cubs rings Harper and Bryant signing with a Vegas team for the inaugural season. After we pay them over a combined billion+ dollars the next decade they can just go buy a team to put there as part of expansion or relocation after they retire.
  16. Hopefully we are starting to incorporate the Dodger 10-Day DL shenanigans with that last bullpen spot
  17. The weather looks a ton better for Sunday Right but Sunday they really would have to do a regular doubleheader, thus losing ticket sales Huh? What’s the difference between tomorrow and Sunday to do it other than Saturday probably being a higher ticket sale day?
