  2. My comment on that 88-92 was on Vargas not Little. I expect more out of him given what we’ve heard pre-draft.
  3. Yeah hopefully this doesn't mess Kris up too much mentally at the plate, couldn't blame him if it does for a bit and obviously the big thing is hopefully there really are no concussion affects. His dad probably flew to Cleveland though and has him in a cage today throwing balls at his head today to get him back in there.
  4. We better not throw at anyone next week against them and they better not throw at us. Just beat those idiots and move on with it until we play next year. With them well when they leave town and ask them to remember to watch us in the playoffs when they are sitting at home.
  5. Brandon Belt had a MLB record 21 pitch at bat vs him that lasted almost 13 minutes. That's incredible.
  6. Yeah, he’s only 19. Yeah, you'd think there's room to add velo at that age. As a lefty even if he goes from 87-89 to say 88-91 and maybe touch 92-93 that's plenty of velo if the command and control is that good with a good curveball. That report on his pitching profile almost sounds a little Quintana like.
  7. From the sounds of it with post game tweets and interviews it seems like Bryant is mostly fine, thank god. He’s flying with the team and still no concussion worries. Still wouldn’t be surprised if he’s given a day or two off here or maybe just DH’s to ease him back.
  8. We miss Kluber and Carrasco in Cleveland, which is a nice break. Hopefully they at least split then go take care of the VBs next weekend to get something rolling off this nice road series win.
  9. :flythew: Great series win. They should trash the visitor locker room.
  10. That’s horsefeathering right Carl. Let’s play screw the closer now.
  11. I don’t think that was even all that bad of a pitch that hit Rizzo, obviously didn’t have intent, him standing so close to the plate was the main factor.
  12. It literally took a ball to drop that’s caught 99.99999999% of the time for the 4 ERs to happen. If that doesn’t happen he likely goes long since his pitch count is way down and the lead is bigger. I guess I'd be curious as to when you think a Cubs starter has actually stunk this year, or if there are always mitigating circumstances. "Just one bad inning, just a bunch of weak contact, etc., etc.." Oh they’ve all mostly stunk outside of each guy having 1-2 decent starts. I just don’t think there’s much to the suckage outside of some bad luck, sequencing, not being good that particular day, etc. so it doesn’t overly concern or bother me to think it should really continue.
  13. Yeah, I wasn’t even saying it was because of Coors. I was saying people were getting really mad at him for giving up two solo shots as his only mistakes of the game. Maybe I'm too demanding, but I'd prefer a Cubs starter to not only go 5.1 and give up 4 earned runs regardless of the stadium given how the starting rotation has looked thus far. It literally took a ball to drop that’s caught 99.99999999% of the time for the 4 ERs to happen. If that doesn’t happen he likely goes long since his pitch count is way down and the lead is bigger.
  14. Being professional pitchers with 2000 innings on their arms is a pretty good argument for perpetually looking for reasons to be concerned about them. No, no; you see, the Rockies home runs don't count because it's Coors (which I guess means that the measly 3 home runs the Cubs also have hit here so far in this series don't count, too. Sorry, Baez!). I mean I don’t think that’s what people are saying. It’s just that it’s Coors, pitchers are going to struggle and give up HRs. They all count but there’s some context with them.
  15. Amazing how not close Almora was to getting to 1B on that
  16. Willy is still around. I liked Joe going for it that inning and it almost (should’ve) worked. Stupid Rizzo.
  17. Yeah I don’t know how you can be overly upset with Q today if you are watching the game. Only thing I’m slightly worried about with him is his velo is a tick down so far. Hopefully it’s just some early season rust/getting his routine jerked around with the off days/canceled games.
