  1. KB is currently taking BP right now, so that's good. I also don't start Game Threads often, but when I do I intend to do them for a week+ if you know what I mean.
  2. Win you jerk faced idiots and show us the frauds that the VB's really are
  3. I'll throw one up, since I'm one of few here not scared of the VB's.
  4. Sofa is the game thread sheriff so I’ll leave it up to him but someone should just throw up a GT since whoever is supposed to must have forgotten or not been on here in a day
  5. Who says that solo homers can’t beat you? Funny you ask that....
  6. Once they stop playing 3 of the worst teams in the league they will.
  7. horsefeathers Justin Wilson and his mother
  8. They’re way up in there in RS rankings, despite playing 1-4 games less than everyone else, have scored at least 3 runs in 14 of their 20 games, 4 or more in 12 of them and over 8, 9 times.
  9. Really, really good start by Lester. Good to see. The rotation should get going pretty soon.
  10. That ball and the ball Heyward hit in the 2nd looked like they were going a lot further than they did
  11. Lester hit 92 and 93 on those last 2 pitches to Kipnis, that’s encouraging...... Edit: he hit 92 a few other times that inning.
  12. Damn it Willy, he clearly wasn’t pitching to you. Just take 3-0.
  13. It’s also adjusted for position. Javy only played ~70 games at SS. The rest were mostly at 2B where the offensive bar is higher. And comparing Lindor and Riz is a little hard to do since Lindor put up the numbers at a harder position with a lower offensive bar.
  14. He’s still mostly DH’ing because of the elbow problem he had/has going back to college where he couldn’t throw and had to DH. Surprised they aren’t just making him get TJS. He’s tried to do the PRP injection thing but doesn’t seem like it’s working. As a position player and 2B you’d think that wouldn’t be all that big of a deal to get. It’s all about the position/defense with him too, the bat seems to be relatively advanced according to reports. Not being able to play the field will hold him back.
  15. Thames to the DL with a torn ligament in his thumb. Sounds like he’s out anywhere from 6 weeks to 2+ months.
  16. When is Zobrist eligible to come back/anyone see any updates on him?
  17. I was there last May on a Cruise, it stayed in port for 2 days so I had a good amount of time to see a bunch of things. I absolutely loved it and want to do a 10+ day vacation there eventually.
  18. He has 16 PAs against them this year, Javy and Almora (whom you'd always assume is playing vs LHP are only in the low-mid 20s). He's getting chances.
  19. Isn’t the upper deck the last part to be renovated and what the speakers are attached to mostly? Maybe when that gets done they’ll update the sound system.
  20. The first half of their lineup is really nice. But they've got some serious trash on their roster. They've got like 3 guys playing every night who Broken Heyward bad. And that rotation is just begging to be donged to death by some good lineups. Yeah the top 3-4 are nice when healthy but they already all have had injuries this year and most have a profile of being injured guys in their careers (on top of half being wrong side of 30). But yeah they are running out at least 2 of Sogard, Perez, Villar, Arcia (pretty much Alcides Escobar 2.0) between SS/2B every night and whoever is catching (which was a league average-ish spot for them last year and they have the same group this year) and other than Arcia they aren't getting the Heyward like defense to make up for the horsefeathers bats. I think it's only a matter of time until their rotation blows up and Counsell is really riding their good bullpen arms hard so far. Hader is on pace for about 100 innings, Jeffress, Barnes and Albers are on pace for over 90 (no RP cleared 90+ last year and only 5 cleared 80+). The underlying numbers seem to support this as well..... Their Pythag W-L is 12-11 and Fangraphs is projecting them for 82-80.
  21. 10 of the VB's 15 wins have come vs teams with a combined 24-67 record. They're 5-8 vs teams with a winning record. I know it all evens out and beating the bad teams is something good teams need to do, just so many of their wins are vs the worst of the worst and the few games they've played vs good teams they aren't good.
  22. Yeah he’s nothing special. This type of spot should be the only spot he pitches in.
