  1. Vegas/books probably know they are going to take a lot of money on them so they adjusted it more for that than who they think is gonna win. I read the other day if Vegas wins, with the futures bet on them, sportbooks will take a loss on the year overall for NHL betting since so many people put money on them for the hell of it at the beginning of the year. They have a multi-million dollar exposure to them winning.
  2. [tweet] [/tweet] Hmmmmm
  3. The Giants suck and Derek Holland really sucks. That is all.
  4. That's fair and makes some sense. But I still think it's lazy and not overly genuine when in this case, and most others, they act like the names they are throwing out being involved is a sourced thing. Like most of the articles/writers are pretty adamant Russell+ other good players would be involved which seems like mostly an opinion and nothing that has real merit. It gets clicks though.
  5. Our mainstream writers outside of pretty much just Sahadev have no horsefeathering idea how player valuation works. Also I think goes to prove they were pushing a baseless story on players involved (and likely overplaying the interest/anything being down the road) since people in FO’s are saying the names they are hearing are crazy so it was just Gordo, Rogers and others making horsefeathers up.
  6. I mean, this literally just happened last year, almost to the letter. Last year the Cubs were 5.5 games out of first and 2 games under .500 at the all star break. They won the division by 6 games and the last week of the season was functionally meaningless. Be as mad or disappointed as you want, but it's real hard to feel like they're remotely in uncharted waters. After 46 games last year the Cubs had an identical record of 25-21, and then went on to drop 6 straight. As has been stated here before the VB 2.0 will start to fall off the cliff, the Cardinals probably will finish like 87-75. I think the Cubs finish around 93-69 so the last week of the season should be pretty meaningless. With the way the other divisions are playing 93-69 might be enough to have the #1 seed and a date with a team like the Cards or the VB 2.0 in the NLDS. I would love to play either of them. I still think this team avoids last years bottom (like u mentioned were at the same record then lost 6 straight). I think we have a really good run in us soon and also will just play better overall baseball and end up between 95-98 wins and think 100+ is still reasonably possible and we won’t have to play .700 baseball in the second half to get there.

  8. Exclusive footage of Theo in the locker room postgame addressing all these bunts
  9. last season taught me not to expect it to be easy, but i didn't think it would be like this. it could/should change in an instant, but i'm past the point of expecting it to. it's just not worth it to be invested in the team right now. every day should be the day the brewers fall off and the cubs take off, and it just won't happen. it's still early, but its not THAT early. There’s like 115 games left and they’re 3-4 games back. It’s plenty early.
  10. Oh well. Should have some great articles by our best writers on tomorrow’s off day
  11. I’d venture to guess the guy running all this is plenty confident. But I’d imagine he’s pissed about the execution and Javy’s bunt tonight though.
  12. Probably just would’ve gone to the warning track if he hit it hard anyways
  13. Having Happ waste a strike on a bunt attempt against Miller seems smart. STOP horsefeathering BUNTING
  14. I know I’m the Addy apologist here. But he had a low-mid .700 OPS like 3 days ago and is/was at a mid 4 win pace. He’s walking more and striking out less than ever. He hit a ball that’s an XBH like 99.9% of the time tonight. That swing was ugly but it is Andrew Miller..... it mostly like seemed like an outside fastball that all the sudden started moving late and he had to emergency swing it.
  15. Yeah, that would actually have been a good idea. Although I suppose Javy is usually a good bunter. I don’t care how good a bunter he is. That’s a stupid move there, let him swing or PH if you don’t like his contact chances
  16. If you’re that worried Javy can’t get him in there just PH Zobrist
  17. Heck, even Ryan Kellogg pitched well! A big night for shitty pitchers involved around the Cubs tonight
  18. Wake up...and do what? You’re just a blind sheep, conformist if you don’t know what it is, Sofa
