  1. I don't know the exact reasons behind it but I'm pretty sure there's a lot of animosity between a lot of the players and the USGA. I think more than anything the players were getting so pissed at the course and USGA that Phil did this as more of a F U to them and to make a joke of it because a lot of the players don't care for the USGA. I don't think this was the start of players looking to bend or take advantage of rules in ways that the spirit of them were meant to be.
  2. Chatwood against the Dodgers will require something special. I’ll see what I can do. I’ll have something in about 45 min. I have to go in to a meeting now.
  3. I can get one fired up if that’s what you want or else take it away Bukie
  4. I generally like Mendoza, but that's just silly. We're just as talented as all of those teams except maybe Houston and the gap isn't large enough to where we can't beat them in 7 games. And also, not that it is an easy path by any means for us in the NL. But whoever comes out of the AL is going to have some battle wounds, you’d assume, since there’s 3-4 elite teams and could quite easily enter the WS like us last year enetering the CS coming off the DS vs the Nationals.
  5. Yeah I hear ya. Offense didn’t show but doesn’t help that we only used Bass, Duensing and Farrell in the pen and all 4 runs came with them in the game Quintana let 2 baserunners on to start the inning and has to go longer than 5 innings. Ideally he does but he was clearly gassed. Once he hit 75ish pitches the velo and command went. Guessing the heat didn’t help.
  6. If I had to guess most teams probably are similar?? Give me a few random teams and I’ll check it out. Like I said not arguing anything was just curious. Yeah it’s interesting, I guess. Not try to argue or anything either. I don’t overly care, just saying I’d guess most teams are somewhat similar. Especially if you pick a team with a similar record over a period. Since 2015 teams are averaging 2.6 runs a game in losses, us not scoring in losses really isn’t a thing.
  7. If I had to guess most teams probably are similar??
  8. Gyorko and Carpenter wouldn’t be good infielders on a beer league softball team
  9. Yeah I’m perfectly fine taking a series win. Just pissed that this game was in reach to win and fucked up by stupid decisions. Bullpen usage, Rizzo’s base running, etc.
  10. Rosario should be ahead of Duensing on the depth chart moving forward
  11. If I had to guess averaging 2 runs a game in losses measures up pretty well vs the rest of the league. I don’t get what Espn was getting at there.
  12. There’s pretty clearly a middle ground here
  13. They have one guy in the lineup that can beat you and that's Ozuna. Bass could have pitched this upcoming inning while not facing the only good hitters in their lineup. Ozuna hit a 40 mph ground ball that the defense botched. A dumb decision getting a decent result doesn’t make the decision any less dumb
  14. Someone from the “late inning circle of trust” should have been used with two on, no out in the 6th inning if 0-0 game. That’s the problem. They need to get at least 3 more innings from the pen tonight and they play 14 consecutive days afterwards. If there’s a time to use someone like Farrell/Bass it’s in a situation against a slew of non-elite RH bats like that. Bass gave up 2 routine ground balls, a line drive, and a K, would you really expect Cishek to do that much better than that? That’s likely the highest leverage spot we’d face this game. Use the best available option there (Cishek or Strop). Give Bass the 7/8 if options are limited later when their best hitters aren’t up.
  15. Then just start horsefeathering Bass and Farrell in a piggy back start and punt the whole [expletive] game if nobody is available
  16. If Bass was the choice that inning if Q got in trouble just let Bass start the inning then. At least give the shitty ass pitcher some margin for error. Don’t make him pitch out of horsefeathers.
