It think it was bad translation/understandings. It seems he meant more like “rust” soreness than hurt soreness.

Baez doesn’t belong in the same sentence as those 2 Replace with Willy? Baez is like the 5th or 6th best offensive player on this team and the team has shown he can be ass and this team be fine even when he’s hitting like 7th. Not having our two 4-6+ WAR anchors hitting at the same time is far more to overcome.

Why would you bother paying for a meal for the other team? It's cool I guess. Probably because he is a good dude who has more money than he will ever need and knows a lot of these guys have to grind for years making little to no money.

No one hates Joey Votto more than Reds fans. I was at the DH games there on Memorial Day weekend and the Reds fans by me were very loud about how much they hated him and how they liked Billy Hamilton more.

Since it's basically the same team that's accomplished all those things with only Lester on the wrong side of the aging/performance curve it absolves them of a lot of doubts and sins for me.

And I don't exactly know when the core position players hit FA, but it has to be close, I think we have a little bit deeper core there with just as much 4-5+ WAR upside and the pitching is about the same with core pitchers control (and even though the Astros have tapped in to some pixie dust there I don't think the talent gap is "that" big on that front either).

We had the best record in the NL before this series. There was nothing that needed to be kicked on. This series sucks and is embarrassing but the comparisons to last year's team don't really hold. last year we had eloy and cease to fix a hole. this year we have nothing to get anybody with, and are just counting on bad players getting better. this team is better than the 2017 cubs were at this time, but they are also in a much more perilous position. But getting a healthy Carl, Morrow and Yu back will be just like a big mid-season trade!
