  1. i think there's a legitimate problem however, in the long run, for the cubs having so many early season games canceled because of weather and playing them all at the end of the season. this also applies to all teams in cold weather areas without domes Well, yeah; the problem is more the pile up of lingering injuries and guys slumping/under-performing. A normal 2018 Cubs team isn't struggling to put a lineup out there every day that isn't half black holes, making it harder to get guys more time off regardless of whether they lost days off. Having 2-3 more off days at the end likely wouldn't have made that much of a difference. It would’ve helped the bullpen a lot and probably at least one of the position guys (maybe Schwarber and Heyward don’t get hurt, Javy certainly seems like he could use a day, etc) and with some extra off days we probably could’ve gotten an extra Kyle start or two and moved Monty to the pen. Could’ve been enough to snake out an extra win or 2 and that’s all we needed.
  2. Because they are still one of our rivals in this window and finding that 28 year old fat horsefeathers off the scrap heap and him being one of the best hitters in MLB is ridiculous. Just like Taylor last year. Hernandez is just annoying and Pederson looks like one of Phillip Rivers 30 sons.
  3. You should hate Muncy, Peterson, Hernandez and Taylor with all your heart. horsefeathers those guys
  4. Guccione rates as a prettt extreme pitchers ump. I wonder if like one of Jon’s blow up Pirates starts is in there skewing the numbers
  5. We’re gonna score at least 6 and Jon is gonna have a run scoring hit as well
  6. He wasn’t right ever since the shoulder injury, good job again medical staff [tweet] [/tweet]
  7. It's Hamels' side day, right? If he goes 2 or so innings tonight, it wouldn't be short rest. I guess technically but game pitches have different wear and tear than a side session. I get you have to get to the next series anyways but at some point you can’t completely shoot your foot off for it either.
  8. I know the alternative options aren’t great but Hendricks and Cishek probably shouldn’t be on the roster to at least protect Joe from using them if we get to Thursday. Cishek would be in like 5 of 6 days if he goes tonight and you just can’t use Kyle. Also I totally expect him to use Hamels and then him having to go short rest Friday.
  9. Win and come through like you usually do with the backs against the wall and head to the DS Thursday like we expected all along and forget these stupid last ~10 days ever happened.
  10. I only have 5ish friends who are actual fans I’d say and them some family. The rest are extremely casual and only pay attention around the last month when the Brewers are good (which obviously isn’t often). All but 1 were cheering for the Cubs in 2016..... that being said horsefeathers them all, crush them in the DS and I’ll be rooting for the Rockies if it’s not us there. The problem is it's not just friends. It's everywhere. At work, I hear them talking about the Brewers. Outside of work, I hear people talking about the Brewers. Oh yeah I get that too. I just try and block it out and know most of them really don’t care and are casual fans at best and the Brewers exist to pass their time until Packer Season.

  12. Today has been rough for people like you and I, and I'm struggling to deal with it. My main goal is for the Brewers to not win it all. And.........I sort of think the Cubs have a better chance to beat them than the Rockies. So I have to take the chance we lose by taking the chance that we have a better chance to knock them out, even though we'd have to win every game 1-0. Keep the faith, I’m in the same boat as both
  13. Drone boy and/or one of their other starters went on short rest too at some point in the WS. Tomlin maybe.
  14. Is it? I’ve seen pitchers throw great games on 3 days rest and I’ve seen them get shelled. As a whole starting pitchers are worse on 3 days rest but yeah I’m sure there’s ones that do fine on it. Edit: Freeland has done it once.... 3IP 5H (3 2Bs) 2ER 1BB 0Ks
  15. Freeland is starting now according to Rockies twitter guy and not Senzlawhatever
  16. Pedro coming in the game for 5+ outs tomorrow like
  17. Yup ultimately we were wrong and I’ll own it. Still hopefully get one more crack at them starting Thursday. I will say it always felt like Cubs-Brewers in the DS was gonna happen since about late-August. Just thought we’d be on the other side of it being the home team/division winner.
  18. Again, congrats on being right about your 5% or less chance of happening call on the VBs. do you ... think this is an insult It’s a hell of a prediction, like I said buy some lottery tickets tonight with that luck.
  19. I believe I heard that too, but it also was Sutcliff so who knows.
  20. The Brewers absolutely earned this, there is nothing unfair about it. This really has little to do with us and everything to do with the Brewers. We ended up about where we should’ve. A ~85 win team got really hot, congrats on being right and happy about that happening. lol even in defeat you just can't help yourself Again, congrats on being right about your 5% or so chance of happening call on the VBs. Buy some powerball tickets tonight.
  21. They went on a ridiculously improbable run to win the division that their underlying talent wouldn’t have predicted? exactly! I just can't figure out how that happened given our run differential and the fact that they traded for jonathan schoop! it's really not fair if you think about it, they should have awarded us the division based on what we presumed our team would be based on our midseason run differential. The Brewers absolutely earned this, there is nothing unfair about it. This really has little to do with us and everything to do with the Brewers. We ended up about where we should’ve. A ~85 win team got really hot, congrats on being right and happy about that happening.
  22. Jonathan Villar was worth 1.3 WAR for the Orioles. Jonathan Schoop was worth -0.4 WAR for the Brewers. Is this you proving me wrong? Would you like me to start digging up posts from you during the 2016 NLCS? my point all along has been that it is probably not safe to write the brewers off at every turn because they are a good team. they made a bunch of middling mid-season moves that accomplished nothing and guess what happened anyway? They went on a ridiculously improbable run to win the division that their underlying talent wouldn’t have predicted?
  23. how do some teams draft pitchers at the end of the first round and get dudes who have three plus pitches and throw 99 and we get alex horsefeathering lange lmao We turned ours in to Quintana
