  1. Lifetime contract
  2. He doesn't even really touch on the fact that we've had to throw resources at fixing holes because we haven't developed any talent in several years. Oh except Bote, who they were so excited about getting an average player from their farm system that they quickly extended him through his arb years. Dodgers have won 7 straight NL West titles and the last 2 NL pennants. They also have a top 5 farm system. I expected a Theo run organization to be something like that. He touched on that a bit in the full interview in regards to plugging holes. Also Dodgers play in an easier division and up until this year the accomplishments since 2015 were pretty neck and neck, and we still have the ultimate prize. Decent offseason we are right back with them.
  3. Any team that finishes the season 21-2 has to be considered a threat. The hot hand theory going in to the playoffs has been disproven over and over again. Especially with a flawed roster like they have. Their wins in this stretch are vs the Marlins, Pirates, Reds, our dead ass team, 3 vs Astros and Cardinals combined, and the Padres. They’ve accumulated them on a soft schedule. It’s still an incredible run, kudos to them. They’ll lose in the playoffs soon enough.
  4. They came out a while back and admitted the pill at the center of the ball was different from previous baseballs, IIRC. And the seams were lowered too, Iirc. But think they blamed it on the manufacturer and not that it was changed by any directive. They just kinda threw their hands up like “Well the manufacturer knows the limits they can make the ball within a range of preset measurements what are ya gonna do?!?”
  5. Yada, yada he spoke big last offseason and did nothing. He had a good interview today and I still trust him and believe the right changes will be made. [tweet] [/tweet]
  6. They projected 79 and were complete horsefeathers about it when defending it. Rob Arthur, Trueblood and the other smug horsefeathers there will not get any credit. Ok but finishing with 82-84 wins in my mind is a win for PECOTA since many people had then at 92-95 wins. They were more right than those that had them with 92-95 wins. I can't speak to them being dicks while defending their projections. Wrong is wrong and just being a few games off doesn’t validates their garbage system
  7. No. That’s the one good thing from this year. PECOTA and those smug pricks were wrong with their garbage projection system. They projected 82 wins. Which is where we've been for the last 10 days and will be 10 days from now. They projected 79 and were complete assholes about it when defending it. Rob Arthur, Trueblood and the other smug assholes there will not get any credit.
  8. First regular season game since 2014 where we will be playing officially eliminated from the playoffs
  9. No. That’s the one good thing from this year. PECOTA and those smug pricks were wrong with their garbage projection system.
  10. With his 40th appearance of the year tonight Phelps team option escalated to $5 million, from $3 million, that’s a no for me. There is no buyout money owed for declining the option.
  11. Well now everything dies baby that's a fact. But maybe everything that dies someday comes back.
  12. Dramatic recreation of Theo listening to Joe’s 2020 personnel suggestions. http://giphygifs.s3.amazonaws.com/media/IdmfEtnMWPzOg/200.gif
  13. I’m sure the overcorrection by this idiot will be measured and everyone will be keyed in on it and he won’t go rogue again.
  14. We’re going to win just enough this weekend for the Brewers to back door the division
  15. Do they get the Jets at all without Darnold? That would be my only other guess as a chance for them to win.
  16. I think he’s going to be fine next year assuming health, obviously if he’s not it’s a problem. But he’s still throwing 96+ with a good breaking ball, give him a normal offseason and ST and I think he’ll be a plenty fine closer. The FA bullpen options suck outside of Will Smith, so there are no clear adds there. Try and find another Wick in a trade would be my goal. If/when any of Schwarbs, Willy, or Happ go I think a relief pitcher is coming back in almost all those trades (maybe not as a main piece but part of it).
  17. Almora’s greatest failure this year was making Yu sad and mad.

  19. They have money, I’d prefer the RP add(s) is through a trade. I also think Kimbrel/Wick/Ryan/Wieck and 1 of Chatwood/Mills is a pretty solid start and foundation of a bullpen, I don’t think they need to add a ton to it with some of the other internal options or at least allocate a ton of capital (money or players traded) to add to it to have a solid unit.
  20. Girardi and DeRosa lines set just high enough to attract all the dumb mouth breathers money, well done Bovada. [tweet] [/tweet]
  21. Yeah I’m fine with it and have talked myself in to it be a good move
