  1. Squeeze, sac fly, walk, balk, what will it be?
  2. Unfortunately, so are the Cubs most of the time.
  3. 4-pitch walk and then pulled for a pinch runner. was it a good AB? No -- but it was a great PA. :D
  4. 4-pitch walk and then pulled for a pinch runner.
  5. The Cubs are now 1 game from the NL Central cellar. /glass-half-empty Or The Cubs are 1 game away from the #3 overall pick in June 2007. /glass-half-full
  6. Yes they can -- Ichiro won ROY and MVP in the same year.
  7. The best news is that Hairston may in fact be gone. That's a net plus in my book. This would only be better if they sent Neifi away.
  8. Dunn led off the inning with a double and scored on a 2-out single. Jones air-mailed home allowing Encarnacion to advance to 3rd, but Maddux struck out Freel looking to end the inning.
  9. Plus he leaped and brought back a potential HR that would have tied the game with 2 out in the 9th.
  10. The Cubs look like they may get the minimum 1 all-star this year. Which player is most deserving to go to Pittsburgh this summer? My vote goes to: Carlos Zambrano. After a slow start in April (maybe due to the WBC), Z has been fantastic and one of few positives on this team in May. If I had as second vote it would go to Scott Eyre -- he's been a fantastic addition to the pen. Too bad he and Howry are wasted on a bad team. Honorable mention: Michael Barrett. Not sure if punching AJ will hurt his chances or actually get him voted in by the players, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does get him the player's vote -- that and he has great numbers at a weak position (though McCann, Ausmus, Lo Duca, and Piazza have to be the favorites to get selected/voted-in at catcher).
  11. Ideally, Kerry stays healthy and pitches great and remains a Cub for many years...... That said, if the Cubs insist on trying to deal him and he was willing to waive his NTC, I'd love it if the Cubs could get 2-3 top prospects out the D'backs system for Wood. I believe Kerry has an off-season home in Arizona, so he may not mind getting dealt there -- particularly if AZ picks up his 2007 option as part of the deal.
  12. I believe it actually read: Forget Dusty Fire Hendry Fire MacPhail
  13. Given the payroll, they already are the most embarassing club in baseball.
  14. Too bad Pierre wasn't able to advance Bynum.... that hit would have won it.
  15. What's their record when they out-walk their opponent? My guess is 0-0. Have the CUBS ever out-walked their opponent ?? Don't mind me being a smart ass..... I'm not having a good day. CUBS are 8-3 when they draw more walks than they allow CUBS are 4-2 when the walks are equal for both teams CUBS are 6-25 when they allow more walks than they draw. Go CUBS !! Not at all Fred -- my 0-0 guess was in the same vain. I'm actually stunned that they have out-walked their opponent as much as 11 times this season. Very un-Cub-like. Hmmmm...... 12-5 when they walk as much or more than the other guys.... Yep! That's it -- the only problem is just their hitting with RISP Andy and Jim! I hate that the team I root for is in the hands of stupid people.
  16. What's their record when they out-walk their opponent? My guess is 0-0.
