    So David, whats your solution then? My solution to you thinking that an at bat in a May game against the Padres while in first place by a landslide is somehow going to cause a seismic shift in what theo epstein's front office thinks about a player? I'm not sure. Of course the intelligent thing to do is evaluate the player over time, but individual moments do stick in the memory of people.

    wasn't maddux secretly a complete creep/weirdo type prankster party animal who thought stuff like farting in people's faces was hilarious He was known for peeing on other people in the shower and hot tubs.

    Yeah next off day is Thursday. Coming off a high energy 4 game weekend series with an extra innings ending, they could use a little rest.

    Padres are 13-19 and only 3.5 out of first.

    I honestly think we've been using some of our pen as innings eaters with the intention of dumping them come July/August. We are making a concentrated effort to limit the innings of some of our starters. The MO has been to find some random arm from the pile every August. We're already beating playoff caliber teams, but it is only May. I trust Theo and Co. to do what is best for the team.
