  1. This seller just listed these tickets ten minutes or so. You know what that means? He bought these singles this morning. He beat everyone to the punch this morning.
  2. When the initial on-sale occurred last Tuesday, I told everyone how I bought a password off of ebay and bought two tickets. A bunch of people were curious if this would work or if the Cubs would cancel my tickets. As I suspected, the tickets just arrived via Fed-ex this morning. So any password should work for the NLCS sale.
  3. Two things. 1.) Cubs beer policy has been to cut off sales for night games at the middle of the 7th or at 9:20 (whichever one comes first). Does this mean that they will be cutting off beer sale in approximately the 2nd inning for Game 2 (8:37 first pitch)? 2.) Kind of an irrelevant observation, but assuming that the Cubs open up the gates two hours prior to first pitch at 6:37 p.m., this means that all of batting practice will take place under the lights as the sun will have already completely set. I'm sitting in the bleachers this game so I think it will be kind of cool seeing as how I've never witnessed batting practice in Wrigley under the lights.
  4. I want to play the Brewers. We will have a lot of fans at every game at Miller. I can't imagine there will be many cubs fans in Philly and CC's arm might fall off by the time the NLCS rolls around.
  5. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080928&content_id=3565162&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Mayor Daley and Gov. Blagojevich will be in attendance! Who would've thought?
  6. Yeah, and then the Mets fan will ultimately remember that player for dominating their team in a three game sweep.
  7. The Rays, since my World Series tickets I bought for them in Game 1 just arrived today.
  8. Dude, as a recent Mizzou grad, for the love of god make sure you go to the games. I can't tell you how many exams I missed over my 5 years (yeah I took a victory lap) in Columbia. Just go to the Health Center, and tell them you're sick. With what? A cold, the flu, Genital Herpes. It doesn't matter. Just get the documentation showing you were there when you check out. Send your teacher an email the morning of the exam and say how sick you are and blah blah blah. Most of the time, they will say "no problem" and let you reschedule it in a few days when you feel better. Worst response I ever got was "I hope you're feeling better. Can you please bring the documentation from the health center just as a matter of formality when you're feeling better?" I probably did this around ten times with no problem at all. Please man, for the love of god, don't miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity. There will always be another Econ exam for you to take. Bumping elbows with Aramis and D. Lee in the playoffs most likely will not happen again.
  9. I'm pretty sure I need to get a job with Tickets.com so that I could alert the board each time another Game One single becomes available. Better yet, World Series passwords for everyone!
  10. I think I know where that bleacher ticket we're all looking for is. http://www.animationartist.com/InsideAnimation/CyberWorld08Homer.jpg
  11. Congrats man, I've actually been checking all day as well. I wish there was some science to when they release a ticket or two, but there really isn't. They just happen to pop up at random times.
  12. You know whats funny about this. I guarantee you if the Cubs win the World Series, there are going to be a bunch of Tribune and Suntimes stories about fathers hanging out in the waiting room while their wife is in labor during the clincher, or about die-hards who had to leave a funeral early to catch the end of the game.
  13. Haha, or better yet, if you're the doctor, do you take a couple extra "bathroom breaks" to go check the score in the break room?
  14. Throughout various threads here, people have said things similar to "I hope Game 1 is a night game because I'll be stuck at work!" Since we're all obviously big Cubs fans here on this board, I think it would be interesting to see if there are any situations or scenarios that will absolutely prevent any of us from going to a game we have tickets for, or prevent us from even watching on TV. Feel free to include past experiences of not being able to watch a Cubs playoff game as well, whether it was 07, 03, 98, 89, 84, etc...... I'll include my own from last year to start it off: I was a senior at the University of Missouri and my girlfriend had her Sorority Semi-formal the night of Game 2. The semi-formal was at an outdoor facility in this crappy rural town and worst of all; NO TV! There was absolutely no way to get out of going to her date party because she had been looking forward to it for months. (I suppose I could've just broken up with her, but that's probably a different story). Anyways, I had to use my piece of crap Samsung phone to check the MLB.Com gamecast. I had to hit "refresh" every 20 seconds to see if a ball or strike had just been thrown. I'd venture to say, that was without question one of the worst nights of my life. There is certainly nothing like following the biggest game of the season on a 2 inch LCD screen for a team you have watched either in person or on TV all season long.
  15. Yikes! It would be horrible considering how hopeless Kosuke has looked at the plate as of late. I for one would love to see Fukudome be successful, but as soon as he steps to the plate I feel that it is a guarantee strike-out or ground ball .
  16. Go Figure: I lost the Cubs NLDS lottery after entering about 10 emails including myself, family, and friends. (No surprise there) I lost the Rays NLDS lottery despite there probably being a 99.8% success rate of winning that one. I win the Brewers NLDS lottery despite entering just my personal email I win the Mets NLCS lottery despite entering just my personal email Damn, now I have to cheer for the Mets to win the East so we can play them in the NLCS.
  17. Holy crap, another Mizzou fan? Z-O-U. Yeah, graduated in May and am back home in Chicago now. I'm new to the board obviously. Can you help me with the avatar? I wanna put a pic of Spoon up there.
  18. Can't believe they lost. So much for all the Mark Sanchez For Heisman talk. M-I-Z...
  19. My buddy from MN just said about Hawk, "I'm so glad I didn't have to hear him (he lives back in Minnesota now). Next to Osama bin Laden, I don't think there is a person on this earth I wish dead more than him."
  20. I'm not sure how they are going to issue refunds this year, but last year this is how they did it. Game 4 of the NLDS (Thank you Rich Hill) : automatic refund on your credit card All NLCS tickets: You had to mail in your tickets to Wrigley. This included printing your 'print-at-home' tickets, if thats the option that you chose, and mailing them in as well. I know its ridiculous, but thats how they did it for the NLCS for whatever reason. Then after they received your tickets, they would issue a refund to your credit card. I'm not 100% sure that they refunded all the fees however. I know for certain that they don't refund you on the shipping cost.
  21. I just got a Section 130 Field Box single for Game 1!!!!!!! "Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth....."
  22. 2 in 305, row 2 2 in 306, row 1 If game 5 occurs there will definitely be a lot of board members in the outfield.
  23. http://www.seatdata.com/html/mlb_cubs/pick_section_mlb_cubs.htm If you need to visualize it
  24. Bleacher break down going from the left foul pole towards the right foul pole: 301-306 (Left Field) 337-342 (Center) 311-318 (Right)
  25. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ticketing/postseason.jsp Just got a pair as well. Section 305, Row 11. Can someone tell me where in the bleachers 305 is? Left center field Nice, best seats in the house. Yeah, mine are 305, row 18 Are bleachers not first come, first serve in the playoffs? I just got 305/16 No, they're assigned seats. Thanks again to KPet for posting this! No problem at all. Better the board gobbles em all up before the brokers do. See you guys in Left field on the 7th if this goes 5.
