  1. It seems we already have LOIs from everyone we're going to. Is Kirkpatrick the only other person we're even a longshot to land?
  2. I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I think it's funny that the starting quarterback of one Super Bowl team is older than the coach of the opposing team.
  3. I'd like to vote for Jeffrey Antigua and Yohan Gonzalez.
  4. I'm in the same boat. After the second or third round, though, I don't mind the board giving my team the best player available if I haven't submitted picks and my war roommate isn't around. i think if people are going to be away for multiple days then they should just PM a couple of people who will be here and give them 5-10 picks in order so that things can just keep moving along. even if you're 10 picks down in the queue it shouldn't take you long to come up with a list. That's my plan, but also just want to make it known that I don't mind taking some publication's (preferably NFLDraftscout.com's) bpa if my picks aren't there.

  6. I put you into the war room with jame.gumb - let me know if you want something else (or want out). Sounds good as long as jame agrees with all my picks ;) If you're an intelligent 49ers fan, I don't doubt at all that we'll agree on the picks. By the way, when are we planning on doing this? We'll start very soon after the combine. That's about what we did last year and we're waiting until then because there are often changes in players' grades during the combine. Of course. How many rounds? Are trades a part of this thing? Comp picks? No trades and we'll go as many rounds as we can. I expect about 3-4 however. Trades are simply too difficult to deal with. And comp picks will be included (as long as they're released by the time we start). I think we included them last year and I see no reason not to this year. Sounds great. Now can you just help me get this couch into my van?

  9. I'm sure you already know this, but you have us switched. Yeah, of course I knew that already. :ninja: Yeah, and I don't collect Death's Head moths... It sounds like a fun past time, at least. If you did that, I mean. Yeah, I don't have the time I used to since I started making my own clothes.

  12. Ok, I've got you for Washington and jame.gumb for SF. I guess I should mention that I'm only available during business hours. The day of or the day before, just PM your top 5 picks in order. That works for me.

  14. yeah i'd like to do it again but let's do it with regular posters. i don't want to have some guy who posts once a year doing the draft for the 49ers because he's a 49er fan, and then setting things back for days because he rarely visits the site. if people have to double or triple up so be it. I'm a 49ers fan, but I visit often. I'll be SF.
  15. On tv, they showed that he had Tyson Jackson (DE-LSU) going to the Bears. Brandon Pettigrew number 11? For a TE? That's it?! Sincerely, Vernon Davis
  16. Texas is looking good so far with 6 in the Rivals top 100, including a five-star QB, DE and OL and 11 four-star players. http://www.jerryodom.com/images/TEXAS-LOGO.gif
  17. I'd rather have my opinion attacked than just being blatantly called dumb. If you really believe Oklahoma was the 2nd best team in the nation after tonight, then I don't really know what to say to you. Actually this sums it up right: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/SportsKnowledge/thoklahoma20jim20ross20ow.gif Meh, I don't think OU is number 2, but you can make an argument they played just as well as Florida last night. If it wasn't for their follies inside the 5 yard line, it could have been a vastly different game. They certainly weren't the offense that they were against the weak Big 12 defenses, but they played better than 14 points last night. If Florida really is the best team, then OU didn't really play that much worse than the best team in the country with everything on the line. That said, I'd probably have USC or Utah 2. I'd go 1. Florida 2. USC 3. Utah 4. Oklahoma 5. Texas And 3-5 are interchangeable, but I think no doubt it will be Florida and USC at 1 and 2 What? Team A loses two games, including one against Team B. Team B loses once. Explain how Team A can be ranked ahead of Team B.
  18. I hate to get back onto this topic, but it kind of pisses me off that this BCS nonsense has overshadowed a really good season by Texas. I didn't expect this going into the season, and I had them pegged for 3 losses. The secondary was really young, Colt had a sophomore slump, no standout runner and a few other things. I'm sure none of you care, but I used most of my posts here so far to complain about the BCS and I thought it appropriate to give kudos to my alma mater for a much better season than I expected. It was a fun year. Your not alone. Though expectations next year will be pretty high. Yeah, we're only losing Orakpo and Dockery (Cosby?). That secondary will be a year older, Malcom Williams is starting to get some PT. I would have liked to have seen a RB step up. I'm not all that impressed with Whittaker, but I do like McGee a bit. Next year and Gilbert's junior year should be good ones. I see you live in Lewisville. Do you listen to the Ticket? Malcom Williams has the potential to be a beast. Yeah Orakpo, Roy Miller, and Aaron Lewis will be big losses to the front line but they have guys to step in already. Garrett Gilbert should be awesome. Are they going to redshirt Gilbert? It would make sense. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't. Even if McCoy was injured they can always play Chiles at QB. They still need to find a bigger role for him next season as well. I'd like to see Colt and Chiles in the backfield at the same time a few plays per game next season. Also, in case you didn't already know, Muschamp has shot down the Auburn rumors. I didn't see that, that is awesome. http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/longhorns/entries/2008/12/12/muschamp_isnt_g.html

  23. The only answer is a 65-team tournament in January.
  24. It's to make sure the conference has its best chance at making the title game. If you have the #3 BCS team getting passed up in favor of the #15 team due to the #15 team running up the score in conference play it wouldn't help the conference at all. If there is a three-way tie for first in a conference in the section here for high school football, the first is head-to-head and the second is point differential in the games among the tied teams with a maximum of 13 points per game. I like the tiebreaker because it only uses the results of the games among the three tied teams and doesn't reward running up the score. If the Big 12 used that system, then Oklahoma would still be going to the title game. Yeah, I realize that. I was just commenting on how using point differential, or some form of it, between the tied teams would be way better than using the BCS standings. That was my point also, though it was apparently poorly delineated. I was never arguing for Texas, just that the system frustrated me.
  25. Wow. What's the reasoning? Likelihood? They could get away with it, since they have established rivalries, but that would be interesting.
