    It really is, but its worth it in the long run in clearing out everyone not named Muschamp. My re-occuring Greg Davis bubble screen nightmares are finally over. That's my rationalization as well.

    I think Chattanooga CB Buster Skrine is a good value here.

    With only one QB on the roster, SF should probably reach a bit and draft Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi. He's arguably the most pro-ready QB in the draft next to Christian Ponder, and he fits the criteria Harbaugh laid out for the position. But Neifi called SF first, so it's ultimately up to him.

    Whose faces have been put on the guys from "Goodfellas"? That's former Texas DC Will Muschamp attacking former Texas OC Greg Davis with two spare coaches watching in the background. There was a rumored altercation between Muschamp and Davis...and another between their wives (for real).

    It's looking like you'll get your wish. Signs are beginning to point to Diaz being the guy. Of course, with the way this process has gone, I fully expect to see that Jerry Gray has been named DC.

    What type of timetable are you putting on getting Texas back to a BCS level program? 2012 or 2013 at the latest. I am hoping for 8 wins next season, and competing for a BCS spot the year after. #2 recruiting class last year, currently #1 this year and the level of HS talent for the next recruiting class just in the state of Texas is great (Jonathan Grey and Mario Edwards will both be top 10 nationally). Has recruiting been the problem? Their current junior class was weak by Texas standards, but the other 3 (senior, soph, freshman) were #5, 5, 3. They might be BCS contenders in 2012, but it's not as if they've had to climb out of some big recruiting hole, have they? Recruiting was a (relative) problem from 2006-2008. The staff was complacent after the win against USC. The last two classes were good and the next two (2011-12) look to be good as well.

    Rumor is Vic Fangio. edit: The rumor is that the new DC is heading to Austin now. The guess is that it's Fangio or Miss. St. DC Manny Diaz.

    Apparently they're going to use make-it-take-it rules for this game. They're stilll working on whether or not to use an all-time QB.

    Did anyone ever care? I read a rumor that BYU is awaiting an offer from the Big 12. If they can get them in before the 2011 season and find another team before the 2012 season, they'll keep the conference championship game. I assume that's the goal.

    We dropped from 105-107 range to the mid 90's and it has been amazing. It actually feels like its football season its been so dramatic. I can't wait for the 70's high to get here. Damn, we're neighbors. Never thought the 90s in Texas would feel so good. That stretch of 100s was killer after being spoiled with all that rain early in the summer.

    They had a few really good years (nearly won the National Championship in 1983) but a lot of mediocre ones too. From 1971 to 2001, they finished in the top 5 three or four times. The run they've been on recently (on the field and recruiting) likely isn't sustainable, so I'm going to enjoy that while it lasts.

    I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.
