  1. Soriano's only hitting because the Astros apparently don't have or believe scouting reports. He still can't hit anything on the outside What about the Brewers? He was 3 for 7 against them. off the top of my head, 2 of those hits were off a lefty (davis, i think). he should hit lefties pretty well because they don't have a pitch similar to the slider righties throw at him that makes him spin out of his shoes. maybe a lefty with a good sinker would give him fits, but that isn't doug davis. eta: only one of those hits was off of davis. 2/5 for the rest of the series. he still wasn't showing much (to me) on the pitch away in that series but the astros haven't even tried to pitch him away. i'll take it though. The other hit that game was when a righty threw a fastball on the middle/inside of the plate. Missed his location, the first pitches he fanned at were outside.
  2. Soriano's only hitting because the Astros apparently don't have or believe scouting reports. He still can't hit anything on the outside He never could. It's silly to act like teams are going to suddenly only pitch him outside when they could have done that all along. Exactly when Soriano is going well he watching outside pitches and waits for the pitch over the plate. He has looked better vs. outside pitches the past 4 days. I think that is one advantage with putting Soriano in the 6th spot, he is not the person you focus on holding down in this lineup as to when he was leadoff if was one of the first people you looked at in the lineup and came up with a game plan to keep him off base. You can't say he's looked better against them in the last three days: they haven't thrown him outside pitches except in that last AB. His best hit this series was in an AB where he saw three straight inside fastballs and then a slider over the middle of the plate. Every team this season just pitched him away and he was hitting .214 when Houston showed up.

  4. Lee's fouled off a lot of pitches in the last two games
  5. Ump isn't giving the outside corner at all. Tell that to Soto
  6. They're still pitching Soriano inside?
  7. Cardinals position players threw 59 pitches in that game.Mather threw 38 pitches, 14 for strikes.
  8. Line drive off his upper arm. Painful, but they didn't find any real damage
  9. Amazing that they managed to get back in the game
  10. Terrible, Noah
  11. Announcer "How was that not a foul?!?! [on O'Neal]"
  12. Shaq elbowed Noah in the head/neck while holding the ball and Noah got called for a foul. Bulls have 13 fouls so far
  13. What a terrible foul call
  14. I'm guessing the birds observe people leaving the stadium and think that's when it's time to show up.
  15. 14ish. He's no Marmol Assuming the numbers I used are correctly updated, 15.2
  16. I'd like to be able to short Soriano's batting average on Monday.
  17. What part of "don't throw inside pitches to Soriano, there's no point" don't these idiots get?
  18. And 2 to Kosuke. Remember the good old days when Fukodome was among the league leaders in pitches seen per plate appearance? If he hits .300+ I could careless how many pitches he sees. You've taken a stupid phrase and made it worse, and done it by misusing my name
