  1. popup into the first row of stands by third base just past the dugout, Ramirez was blocked by a fence on one side and a crouching Brewer employee on the other so he couldn't get to it.
  2. So I was changing a diaper when Ramirez got his hit. What was it?
  3. At least it's solid contact, even if it feels like he hasn't hit a line drive in 10 days
  4. So by this guy's logic, everyone who hasn't had a long career as a free agent and who hasn't sucked has been grossly underpaid, so the only people not being underpaid are old people who signed contracts as free agents and are badly underperforming? How many Cubs fans give a damn how much he was worth to the Yankees and Rangers compared to what he was paid by them? edit: 2007 Soriano was worth $23 million? further edit: oh, it assumes he was god in the outfield
  5. Why? He hasn't worked a whole ton recently and we're in the middle of a 19-game stretch w/out an off day. Plus Lilly is coming back w/ a pitch count tomorrow. Marmol looks to be on tonight, I have no doubt he can mow through the bottom of this order fairly quickly. No reason to waste another pitcher that we may need tomorrow. I'd say that's all the reason not to pitch our best and only reliable (I guess Zambrano counts now) relief pitcher with a 7 run lead in the 9th Zambrano hasn't been a relief pitcher in 8 years. No, he does not count as a reliable relief pitcher.
  6. So is Lou Piniella cripplingly senile, or mentally [expletive]?
  7. Oh, hi, Marmol, please, close out this game we have a 7 run lead in
  8. Fielder is trying to figure out why his don't do that against the Cubs
  9. Yeah, Im not sure about his use here either. But, whatever. When's the last time he pitched? Wednesday when he pitched in a blowout It kinda makes sense to use him right now with Lilly going tomorrow. His use has been relatively spaced out with all the losing, and the bullpen is likely to be called on early tomorrow unless Lilly is his usual self already and very efficient. He's going to be on a pretty tight pitch count. So Marmol is less likely to be needed tomorrow when the bullpen has been depleted by the 8th, or are you just sacrificing the game?
  10. Marmol must be averaging a 3 run lead when he comes in, wtf?
  11. aside from the grounder that bounced off the heel of his glove
  12. Did Bob just say that sometimes these guys get a little light in the loafers?
  13. Please let the 1b ump call those, ump. I don't care that it went for the Cubs this time.
  14. Another theriot double there would have been nice
  15. "Are they booing me?" "no, they're saying Suuuuuuuuuuuuupan"
  16. Unusually bad bunting from Dempster, who has become my favorite "hits like a pitcher" hitting pitcher
  17. Cutting from Z walking to the bullpen to a shot of Lou's lifeless eyes...
  18. I've got to say, you guys seem to have done a good job on giving a lot of options for listening to it. I haven't been able to listen for more than the Kaplan interview, but I'll try not to hold it against you/them
